During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

I've made that pothole change at Monster Halloween; someone feel free to add whatever for the newest movie.
How's this look ?
- 2018 film and Kills: Michael Myers, forty years after his original killing spree, escapes from a crashed prison bus, Michael kills several people, including a young boy just to retrieve his mask. Beginning a new spree, Michael breaks into several homes to butcher their residents throughout the night, as well as friends of Laurie's granddaughter, Allyson. After stomping his psychiatrists head in and killing Allyson's father, Michael is left to burn by Laurie, Allyson and Karen. Surviving that, Michael escalates his killing spree by slaughtering responding fire fighters and the mob formed by Tommy Doyle; killing Tommy himself; makes Allyson watch as he brutalizes and kills her boyfriend, before murdering her mother. With at least thirty kills in the span of a night, Michael would prop their bodies as morbid decorations and show that age has not slowed his brutality.

"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."theHey, also, on this note...
What's the work?
Zero Saints is a horror novel by author Gabino Iglesias. The publisher summary:
"Enforcer and drug dealer Fernando has seen better days. On his way home from work, some heavily-tattooed gangsters throw him in the back of a car and take him to an abandoned house, where they saw off his friend's head and feed the kid's fingers to...something. Their message is clear: this is their territory, now. But Fernando isn't put down that easily. Using the assistance of a Santeria priestess, an insane Puerto Rican pop sensation, a very human dog, and a Russian hitman, he'll build the courage (and firepower) he'll need to fight a gangbanger who's a bit more than human... "
Now, let's talk our villain...Indio.
Who is Indio?
The head of the Mara Salvatrucha mareros and a brutal cultist, who worships the worst of the gods with sacrifices...he intends to move in on Austin from Mexico City where Fernando left and are making what they believe is a "fair" offer to Fernando: tell his boss Guillermo that he needs to surrender a large swath of territory....and just to prove the point, Indio has his friend Nino handy. Before Fernando's eyes, he slowly saws off Nino's fingers and then saws his head off as well...
Fernando is left in a bad, bad tstae and returns to Guillermo along with their mother figure Consuelo. Now, Fernando heads to talk to Guillermo, not realizing Indio is tailing him...and Indio arrives and absolutely butchers everyone. Guillermo is dismembered and Consuelo's throat is cut.
Fernando is revealed to have fled when he murdered another Narco and brought hell down upon those close to him...and finds himself, empowered by his own saints, facing off with Indio. This is a short book, so in the resulting conflict, Indio's gang is wiped out and with his Russian ally? Indio is killed when blindsided during a fight with Fernando and shot in the head.
Mitigating issues?
None. Indio is a worshiper of the ancient god Ogun for power alone and pays him in blood and pain, with a lot of bloodshed...the Mara Salvatrucha are brutal as fuck...they're known for being bad even by Cartel standards and we get to see it, with brutal scenes of torture and murder. The book is short, but I say we have enough here, plus the major bloodshed he's left in his wake.
Conclusion?
And a yes.
BTW Lighty, for Hitler:
"Terrifying even the dark gods behind the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis and the Deadites, Hitler process uncontrollable and intends to take a Deadite army to raze not only only earth but destroying both realms as well, even Hell itself to take over existence."
Should that be: "Terrifying even the dark gods behind the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis and the Deadites, Hitler intends to take a Deadite army to raze not only Earth but to destroy Hell itself to take over existence."?

Cut Tirac.
