I've just looked up on Google and 1983 is indeed the coldest recorded winter in the midwest.

The monsters' text-to-speech voice sounds a lot like all the speech in Faith. Anybody know what software that type of retro voice could be made with?

I think it might be SAM, which was software made for the Commodore 64 back in 1982.

It's surprising to get to the end and have Linkara say it doesn't suck.

"A Batman who laughs, is a Batman who always wins". So even it won the events month as the one that didn't suck.

metal was decent. death metal was where it went off the rails.

but it was also supposed to lead to the 5g dc new timeline where all the events got spread out in the past and characters had been aging in semi real time from their new debut time

everyone except dan didio hated that and when he got fired they changed gears and were like eh its still the same lets just use this 5g stuff as a bad end averted timeline while we figure out our new plans for books

Metal is loud nonsensical plot points coming at you at the speed of light cause Snyder wanted to capture the Silver age silliness/randomness of plot points coming out of nowhere that just happens to solve the problem

My issue with the Story is Snyder spends so much time on Building up his villains when he gets the climax... it kinda limps to the finish so we can have a Dance party ending -and He does it again in Death Metal'

I kind of want the other Dark Knights to return somehow and become main villains of their own stories. Most of them are more interesting characters/takes on "what if Batman turned evil" than Laughs, who is just "what if the Joker was even more edgier?". He's a stereotype of what Batman thinks will happen to him if he breaks his no-kill rule instead of what he'd really become

The Batman Who Laughs also kinda looks very similiar to Judge Death from Judge Dredd.

And the Merciless bears a striking resemblance to Judge Fear. Batman has tangled with them before.
