I've been thinking this for a while, but I swore the rap lyrics of 'Libera Me From Hell' go perfectly with Simon's Theme - the original SNES version, mind you. I tried singing said lyrics with that music play. The lyrics fit perfectly. Let me demonstrate.
- 0:21-0:37 - Extended version of chrous (aka, "Do the impossible/See the invisible/Raw! Raw! Fight the Power!")
- 0:37-1:11 - First verse, with a slight pause between "do the impossible, don't ya wanna bet?" and "cuz, a lot of things changed..." at 0:53.
- 1:11-1:19 - You can fit the shorterned chorus here.
- 1:19-1:35 - Second verse.
Then it just repeats from there. Holy crap. Can we declare Simon Belmont as officially GAR now? Someone needs to remix Simon's theme with the lyrics. It needs to happen.
... Oh, my. I just realised. Both series have a main character named Simon, and their pronounciation is the same. This is all too much of a coincidence, I think I need to go lie down.

Anywho, I started playing Castlevania Chronicles. It's got tons of great concepts and setpieces, and it's a worthy remake of CV 1, but GOOD LORD is it cheap.
I love Castlevania Chronicles, but was never able to get past the the third game loop. It just gets ridiculous at that point.
Although i give the game props for putting forth some effort and having up to 8 sets of differences each New Game Plus.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Schitzo: In the retranslated version of that game, was that Norio Wakamoto doing the Japanese voice acting?
SHIKI is dead.Yes, that's Norio Wakamoto. Sexy, ain't it?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.For some reason, when I woke up this morning, the thought in my head was that, if Sypha's name had been changed to Cipher (as suggested by Harmony of Dissonance), the names of Castlevania III's protagonists would correspond to the nucleic acid bases of DNA.
Even better, they're always in pairs, and the pairings would be Alucard/Trevor and Cipher/Grant.
I do not want to know what I was dreaming about that would cause me to think about that first thing in the morning.

Man, Dracula's first form in Chronicles is so boring. It's like CV 1's, only you can tell where he'll teleport.
Second form is pretty cool though.

So who's played Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth? Despite Adventure being unfun and boring and bad and all sorts of other mean words, ReBirth is very enjoyable, interesting, and challenging while still feeling surmountable.
And I never realized this, but the game has a stage select! So it turns out, you don't have to beat it all in one sitting like I thought you had to. Super-neat.

WHO IS THIS LOSERWell, I don't have it myself, but my friend does, and I've played it on his console. I presume you're referring to the Wii Ware game? He did a speed run, beat it front to back in about thirty minutes. Fun.
:smug:Music needs work, though. I don't overly mind how almost every tune was a remix (Though I wish they'd pick at least one tune from the original Castlevania Adventure. Even SCV 4 had Vampire Killer.) but it just sounded so squawky to me.
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.I beg to differ. This was some of the best level design i've seen in a while. At least stages 3-5 were.
I loved that golem boss.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.My one problem with the levels is that they stretch a bit too long. Level 5, in particular, feels like two levels back to back. I spent so long in the clock tower segment that starts a few screens before the midboss that when I finally got to Death and game over'd because I was on my last life, when I continued, I thought it sent me back to an entirely different level! I kept thinking "This is it, the final stretch to Death" for about four screens in a row! I really do think each level could've had one or two segments removed, and the level lengths would be perfect.

Bwha-ha-ha! That was golden!
