Wouldn't a repeat of that be the lamest?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I've always felt it could have made for an awesome seasonal arc rather than being confined to one episode. Tak was awesome and I would have loved for her to be a recurring character.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. They intended her to be that IIRC. But...
Yes to the first, meh to the second and third, and I would sell the name of my firstborn child for the fourth.
I'd also hope for Reboot but uuuuuuugghhhh the remake of that is making me so mad.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The best reboot to finish off the threesome would be Megas XLR, because it seems more similar in tone than any other prematurely lost cartoon from the era I can think of.
Does anyone actually read these?
Oh man, then fix that whenever you can. I don't want to overhype it, but it's my favorite comic-based cartoon period.
It's also the show that's the hardest to bring back from that list.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).
Especially the fact the creator of the show, Greg Wiseman, is working on Young Justice now that it is renewed a third season.
Plus Spider-Man is already having a new show after it's Ultimate Spider-Man show, so we might as well try bringing back Spider-Man Unlimited as there is no way that is happening.
Yeah, definitely check out Spectacular. It easily ranks among the best things ever done with the Spider-Man license rights.
It's never coming back on account of the fact that the legal red tape that strangled it to death is pretty much insurmountable, but it's still got two seasons of great.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.IMO Spectacular Spider-Man is second only to Batman The Animated Series in terms of superhero cartoons. It is that good.
Yes, totally absolutely go watch it. You must.
And don't have expectations because overhyping yourself before show always ruins it.
It just occurred to me that with this new movie, they could either choose to adapt, continue or retcon the comic book series (given that there's a heavy chance it will follow directly from where the tv series left off).
I really hope they choose to adapt the comics, at least issue 1-2. Written by Jhonen, it had the best depiction of Zim returning.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I'd be surprised if it picks up right where the series left off, actually. I'd expect a time skip and a convenient "Where we are now" series premiere that simultaneously establishes the new status quo while also introducing all the characters for the first time to the part of the audience that wasn't there to watch the show 17 years ago.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. With all the reboots announced over the last few years, I couldn't help but lament that Zim wasn't one of them. Imagine my surprise to find out that they're finally bringing him back in a movie.
Samurai Jack's came back, FLCL is getting a couple of new seasons, Young Justice is getting a third season, and now Invader Zim's getting a TV movie. Dreams really do come true.
Anyway, while I've been all for Zim coming back, I've also realized that it's probably won't be the exact same show it was. They can't get all of the original crew members back on it, and even if they could, they probably don't do things exactly the same way as they did when the show was airing. That said, I always thought Zim deserved another chance, and I'm excited to see him come back.
Richard Hortvitz actually sounded kinda scary in that promo, until GIR showed up.
Vasquez, when launching the comics, explicitly said he wouldn't want to do that anyway, that new material should be, y'know. New.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. That's ok. I wouldn't want it to be the exact same anyways.
Also that preview video was such a blast from the past. I thought maybe they were going for a sinister, broken Zim for a moment...and then Gir just interrupts and proves he's the same idiot he was way back when.
It feels a bit like coming home, really.

Drop whatever's in your hands and watch this. Now .
It's like somebody heard the old Spider-song and said, "Okay, let's make this catchy as phuck."
Living on the edge, fightin crime, spinnin webs, swinging from the highest ledge, he can leap up on mah head.
Ahhhhhhh-ha. Ahhhhhhaaahhhahaaa.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Second teaser came out:
With Jhonen, Fahn, Rikki and Horovitz already confirmed, I'm cautiously sliding up to this reboot sequel. Still not sure if it's going to be a good thing if it's returning though (see original post
)
You never really notice how much Gir's voice cracks when always speaks high pitched like...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Oh. I thought it was a new series.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Seems like it'll take a bit for tat voice actor to get used to Zim's weird intonations...it sounded just a bit off.

Tak: The Hideous New Girl was my favorite episode. A terrifying new girl, Tak, shows up and is revealed to be an Irken Invader. Unlike Zim, however, she is hypercompetent and might actually be able to pull off the job. For the sake of Dib's planet and Zim's pride, the two are forced to team up to stop Tak from legitimately succeeding in taking over the Earth.
