Haha, So where do Bob-bombs go? Do you stick them with Wart, thanks to their original appearance in Mario 2, or do you fully embrace their Canon Immigrant status and put them with the Koopas?
Uh, Ray, I don't want to call you a Single-Issue Wonk, but you make it very easy.
...I play pinball. Does that help?
Let's see. People have often mentioned the idea of a Pokemon MMORPG. Having played Puzzle Pirates and being exposed to their monthly parrot/kraken/monkey idea in addition to standard winnable ones, I had a bizarre idea for said Pokemon game.
About 20-30 (however many) monthly competitions of various kinds: tournaments, contests, oddball activities that the game contained, etc. Each named for a particular legendary Pokemon that, being legendary, would not be found naturally in that world.
And winning the competition earned you the right to play as that legendary directly, independently of your trainer persona (which you could still use if you desire), for a month. Battling independently, challenging other legendaries, or even temporarily joining up with trainers of your choice.
(It's better than everybody having an Articuno. And might be better than one player claiming it for life.)
Inspired by the oncoming title for the DS, I thhink a Johnny Bravo Dating Sim would be so good I'd even play it.
Wouldn't a Johnny Bravo Dating Sim have "Unwinnable" as its main premise? (Thus ruining the point of playing the game at all)
A game where you're a wild animal. I've seen some games like SimAnt along these lines, and I vaguely recall an old game where you play as a pride of lions. Obviously, some animals are more interesting or boring than others, so predators would probably be interesting enough to play as an individual, while more tedious creatures like insects and grazing animals would probably be best played at the group level.
For all the fighting game-related things, you might want to check out M.U.G.E.N, a Fighting Game Maker.
Nah, they could make it unbelievably hard like I Wanna Be The Guy but with only one Bittersweet Ending in a sea of Downer Endings of varying hilarity.

An adventure game that takes place in a black-and-white world where you play a sort of magic artist. The world hasn't always been black-and-white though, and your creations only work with colour. Therefore, it is up to you to return the colour to the world!
A sandbox Zombie Apocalypse.
An SCP fps.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."MMOFPS
One big persistent game world. Filled with dangerous or elusive game beasts (real and mythical) and enemy soldiers.
Players can arm themselves with something as old timey as a musket to a modern styled assault rifle. All of which can be enchanted for More Dakka.
Wanna kill dragons with RP Gs? Go ahead. Heck you might wanna call up your mount, a personal tankette, in case things get hairy.

Do want.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffImagine an RPG plot... let's say early Terranigma... with a toned down yet still playable Animal Crossing-style engine. You live in your hometown, and you get to talk to the residents a lot, do favors for them, buy things for your room in your house, and so on. Basically, the option to spend a few days or however long living a normal life and getting to know the villagers, with no limits aside from your patience.
And then you open the forbidden door, the true plot of the game gets underway, and your hometown is destroyed.
The Doomed Hometown trope would be far more effective if a) you weren't railroaded quite so much and could believe that your actions were truly a wrong choice, and b) you actually felt like you were losing something of value when it happened.
Survival Crisis Z?
Maybe it's because I just haven't played it enough, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. Can't explain why, it's just a gut thing.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."A Bullet Hell game with you controlling the enemy forces instead of the single starfighter/Magical Girl fighting them. You would plant defenses and hangars a la Dungeon Keeper or Evil Genius, build your flagship (the level's boss), and then, when the alarms sound, jump from unit to unit in an attempt to take down the Ace Pilot.

I wanna see a fighting game made from A Song Of Ice And Fire, with posthumous characters like Rhaegar and the Sword in the Morning as secret characters.
I wanna see a Star Fox style 3D flying shmup with bullet time mechanics.
I wanna see a Starcraft or Warcraft style RTS where you train the AI to do all the micromanaging tricks human players can do instead of controlling them directly all the time. Build your own virtual Korean pro player, so to speak. (Darwinia gave me this idea.)
I wanna see a strategy RPG in the style of Ogre Battle or Fire Emblem, but where the combat between characters is resolved in a fighting-game-esque fashion like in the Tales Series.
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.

@Worlder: Don't forget the Bob-ombs.
