-presses a button and they all blow up into a mushroom cloud-
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.Well then. No Kill like Overkill, indeed.
Can we stop by Wendy's on the next moon? I want some of those delicious sea salt fries.
oh, that's why I need this binary mind // ⌘-My fleet drops back out of ftl around the Erinthios. One of the largest world ships is close enough to make out a large number of of what appear to be blobs of mercury sliding around the outside of it, doing various things.-
-opens a commlink, not the least disturbed by these odd beings.-
Yeah, I really think our problems can wait. We're going to help you guys. You now have all the resources of the Confederation of Sapient Entities at your disposal. What's left of it, anyways. Yeah, after that civil war, and a bunch of other junk, we're pretty disorganized.

"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. Clarke-over the commlink-
Yeah, we may want to skip the next system. It's a torikan enclave known for its *ahem* somewhat amazonian tendencies. Sure, torikan society is overall somewhat matriarchal, but these are the kind of people you want to avoid unless you want spend the rest of your life in chains.

"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. Clarke-a female voice comes in over the commlink, and a large fleet of warships flickers into view as they deactivate their cloaking fields-
Now, Vorthon, is that any way to treat an old friend? I'm rather disappointed. Almost as disappointed as when you and the rest of the crew of the Obsidian left me stranded on Xivel Necron.
-My voice goes up an octave as I respond-
Nysa! It's been... A while! eh... heh... heh... yeah... about that... it was that scumbag Ketozarian pilot we hired... We did convince him to leave you with supplies and an emergency beacon...
-Nysa interrupts, sounding annoyed-
I was stranded on that planet for over a standard year before being picked up!
-I respond, sounding somewhat frightened-
Don't blame me... I tried to stop him... We thought you would have been picked up by someone a little less... extremist...
I don't care! You will come peacefully, or you will all be destroyed.
Couldn't it wait? We're trying to save the galaxy right now...
No!
Please?
No!
Please?
No! For the last time No!
-I open a private commlink to the erinthios-
I honestly think we should listen. We might be able to convince her to help. I honestly don't want to resort to violence here... Me and Nysa have a bit of a... history...
"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. ClarkeI'm not sure, but even if there isn't, she'll just keep following us until we surrender, or she kills us. Besides, CSE spacecraft don't use hyperspace. We use alcubierre drives, and seeing as we're surrounded, my fleet can't go anywhere without killing a large number of sapients.
-a bunch of metallic drones deploy from the warships, latch onto the ships, and start attacking any kind of ftl tech-
And, y'know, there's also that. I didn't think of that. We're screwed.

"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. ClarkeThen we'll just have to punch our way through, as we really don't have any time for this.
-small point defense turrets mounted to the Erinthios begin attacking any drones that come close to the ship, putting a wall of light between them and the vessel; Flanker, having moved to the bridge, opens a line between the Erinthios and the flagship of the other fleet-
This is the Erinthios. We are on very important business, and time is critical. Cease and desist before we are forced to use deadly force on your vessels.
Locking you up on radar since '09Less beings means a more boring galaxy... Less beings also means that there'd be less primitive societies to mess with... As well as less torikan, which means less sources of slaves... If I helped you, would I get to kill anything?
"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. Clarke-opens a private commlink to the the rest of my fleet (once we get where we're going. After a couple minutes, they all go into ftl.-
Sent them to the Large Magellenic cloud. They should be safe there.
-docks my ship with the Erinthios. My ship is a tiny one-seater, with only basic weapons.-
-over a commlink-
Hey! Guys! Let me in!
"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. Clarke-steps out of the airlock into the ship- your point being? I like the hiss. Anyways, I've been thinking. You're trying to get rid of a machine race, right? Well, one of the member races of the CSE is a machine race. You noticed those silvery-looking blobs on the outside of one of the worldships, right? They're called Aeberians. We originally engineered them to inhabit barren worlds, roughly the size of mercury of smaller. I've brought one with me.
-What appears to be a blob mercury the size of a large dog slithers out of the airlock behind me. It exudes a psuedopod, which it waves back and forth in a kind of greeting.-
They don't have a hivemind, so if one is compromised, the rest are safe. I've 'talked' with this one here for a while, and it's willing to be infected with a computer virus, which will then be transmitted to the complex when it interfaces with them. What d'ya say?
"If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods." - Arthur C. ClarkeGood. We're approaching the shipyard now.
-looks at a console-
Interesting... it appears to be on automatic hail, and the frequency is abnormal. Not enough to make the Erinthios unable to pick up the signal, mind, but it's definitely toward the lower end of the scale.
Locking you up on radar since '09-start tapping away at wrist mounted console which I've wirelessly linked to the aeberian.-
I should be done in a couple minutes. Lower end of the scale, you say? Interesting...
GTG. Won't have access to a computer with internet until tommorow.
