Greetings. This is the thread for requesting assistance with recovering a TV Tropes account for which you have forgotten the password.
Before posting here, please note that Get Known has a comprehensive set of instructions for managing your account. To summarize, password resets are limited as follows:
- If you have an associated email address, use the Lost Password link on the login screen to request a reset email. If that doesn't work, post here.
- If you do not have an associated email address but you are still logged in, you can register an email address and use it for recovering your password.
- If you do not have an associated email address, and have not used your previous account since September 18, 2013, we cannot verify your ownership for technical reasons.
- To verify ownership without an email address, and if you have used your previous account recently, you should be logged in on the same computer and/or Internet connection that you most recently edited or posted from.
- It is not currently possible for moderators to reset your password or change your registered email address. As a last resort, you may use our contact form
to send a message to "The Staff".
Thanks for your understanding.

Yes, there's a "remove account" link on the Get Known page. You have to be logged in from the account in question, though.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Months ago (back on page 12), I requested a password reset on my account (Andarian), and then gave up waiting for a response. I'd like to reiterate that request, since I would like to participate here but do not want to use a different handle from my preferred one (Andarian). Is there something that can be done to help me? Thanks.
Well, okay. I reset it. There was no history on it at all, so nothing to lose.
I somehow managed to remember the password; how did it find all my old edits, as I didn't delete the account? Also, how do I delete my other account, Merseyuser2, which was a temporary one?
For some reason, it asked me to get known again, despite this account existing since 2010!

Sorry, no match. Are you on the same computer/ISP?
