LOL. I have no idea how you'd explain something like that, either.
I do want to say thank you for writing such a vastly entertaining and really amazing fanfic. I loved reading every second of it, and I'm sure that wherever you go in writing further it will be just as incredible.
ophelia, you're breaking my heart![]()

The matebond origin... well is hard to come up with a explanation without knowing where vampires come from, but from a "evolution/usefullness" viewpoint it could be explained: 1)Vampires a made of humans, they minds are different but there still much of what humans have, and humans do want to fall in love 2) Two predators hunt better than one.
Honestly, I think vampires, at least Luminosity!Vampires should have a artificial origin, being created by Witchcraft (I added that WMG actually
), the original witch(s) could have been someone capable of reshaping and changing someones biology, and spend years altering himself and others until the "model" of vampires that we see today was done.
Vampires like the ones from Buffy or True Blood look like something that *could* have evolved.
Luminosity/Twilight Vampires? No. There is just a lot of redudancies, they are just too powerful, even if you add that there are witches and two kinds of werewolfes around, plus they whole biology is so alien that it makes even hard to believe that they are a product of evolution.
It was a human who drunk a true demon's blood, right? Well, the problem is that you have to add demons to the Luminosity universe, I think it is better to work with I already *see* without making up stuff.
Otherwise, I *would* like to see or now, if there are or were other supernatural creatures out there.
EDIT:
Talking about other supernatural creatures...
...what others beings could fit in the Luminosity-verse? Where are they? Is there any being that Alicorn would disaprove?
I was thinking about... the Fair Folk, mostly because Pera's power reminds me of them, they migh exist in a similar or "deeper" layer of the hiding place. Other shapeshifters would be nice too.

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.
Pera's power does remind me of the fey otherworldly dimensions that are neighbouring/right on top of ours.
If here was to be Fey in the Twilight verse, I would probably breed them with humans; maybe that’s where the witch craft actually comes from? Like the Southern vampire Mysteries, some humans can have fey ancestors giving them sort of magic quirk.
I probably won’t include them, but it’s an interesting thought.
EDIT: @Alicorn: Do you have a mailing list for you not fanfiction related projects? Or will I have to be not lazy (the horror!) and actually check your site every now and then ?

I know, True Blood is the main reason I wouldn't add the concept myself. But it is interesting >.>
Oh, just forgot to say, I really liked (if brief) Renée characterization, it was just funny and consistent with everything we saw about her.
Is Charlie a witch? I would guess that Addy would have tasted him.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.I do not have an e-mail mailing list. If you subscribe to the Luminosity RSS feed, it will tell you when there are new Flashes, and I'll post an announcement there when there's Elcenia/Dreamward to look at. I'll probably also post something in this thread.
My take on Charlie is that he wouldn't qualify as a witch as a human, but would be pretty likely to develop a power after turning.
Harry and Sue's case is not the rule, but it wouldn't be unheard of, either. Especially when two people have been happily married a long time, they tend to grow into the sort of people who "belong together" in a sense relevant to the factors that make mate bonds happen.
Also, a friend with a SA account summarized the goings-on. Nothing out of the ordinary or worth buying a membership for.

Something Awful, if people are curious about why someone would pay for a forum/why it might be worrying there was conversation going on there.
As to the flash: I'm continually impressed by your ability to add new and disturbing layers of sympathy to your characters.
...that came out more sarcastic than I meant. I really do like the ending and the flash.
...italics.
Anya, can you make the letters in the pdf smaller? They are bit too big IMHO
About the flash:
I din't had much simpathy for Sulpicia at first, she sounded too whiny, but on a second thought I concluded:
- She is a woman in a male-dominant society, while her life is very... confortable for the time, it all breaks down to the fact that she din't ask for that life.
- Is not that she is too lazy or spoiled to actually want to talk, but it is the realization: People really don't care about what she wants or who she is, if they did care she would to ask less. Her husband doesn't mind make her happy, but it isn't something that he takes effort to think about.
I am correct?

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Sulpicia was married at fifteen to a guy she barely knew, who was willing to throw money at her and congratulate her for producing sons but was otherwise basically neglectful and has no idea *who* he's married to, just is pleased that she can have babies with relevant anatomy. At seventeen she's basically a malcontent with a husband she doesn't care about, children she doesn't know *how* to care about, and stepchildren she can't relate to, with no way to ameliorate these issues and everyone around her telling her constantly how much she's living it up and how lucky she is. Then along comes Aro... who offers to sweep her away and pamper her for all eternity without obliging her to perform any duties or interact with anyone besides him if she doesn't feel like it, *on the sole basis of the contents of her brain*.
Yeah, that what I was saying, except you are better with words >.<
oddly the bit that intrigued me the most was the fact that Sulpicia joined the coven after Chelsea, I also had the impression that Sulpicia was a vampire before meeting Aro, but I guess was just assumed things xP

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly."Now, I can pull the drooping cotton tighter still, fasten Marcus to Master Aro and to Caius and to Athenodora and to Sulpicia (I was afraid, too, when she came along and caught Master Aro's eye so effectively, but she liked the picture of the queenly leisure he promised her, and will not entice him out of the group). And to me, of course."
Indicates that Sulpicia came after Chelsea, although it doesn't specify that she was human.
ooh right.
how much pre-turning relationship affect the bondmate after turning? If for whatever reason Bella had hated Edward to the point that she would want him to die... what would happen if she is turned and becomes his full simetrical mate? Would the hatred melt away?
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly."Melt away" wouldn't be the right description, really. If she hated him and wanted him to die before, she might go on hating him after turning, but she couldn't bring herself to wish his death (but this would feel subjectively like just not thinking death was an appropriate thing to wish on a person... even if she wished death on third parties regularly). She'd consider it a sort of unquestioned background assumption that they were supposed to stick together barring unusual situations and be on the same side if taking sides was called for, but this would feel subjectively like having been thrown together by circumstance more than a decision she's making. And over time, his good qualities would become more and more salient, his bad qualities less and less so, and attempting to go on hating him would be more and more tiring.
Originally I had the letters at 12, but then I figured it was too small and put them up to 18. But yes, I can put them down. Though if Alicorn has any objections.....?
Though it might be easier if you just decreased the magnification of the pages.
EDIT: Is there a vampire in the Luminosity verse that can fly?! If not then we are serverly lacking!
Can you tell I've just been watching the Superman movies?

Nope. I'm stumped. Sorry.
