This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

- Try to be more inclusive in your opening posts, identifying the problems. A good OP is instrumental to initiating conversation in the workshops.
- When everyone has said their piece about problems and offered solutions, try making a crowner instead of contentlessly bumping the thread. See How Crowners Work.
- Above all, patience. TRS has very limited resources, so it's gonna be an uphill ride.

I just discovered I've been suspended, and I'd like to be able edit again (and also curious as to why).
@ colaproduct: You appear to be a Bluenose Bowdlerizer. You seem to change swearwords into asterisks. This is not appropriate or proper behaviour on this wiki and is a banable offence.

@Matt II: The reason for your suspension is Natter and Word Cruft. Examining your edits, I see a pattern of things like, "How has no-one mentioned <X> yet?" That kind of language is detrimental to the style of the wiki. Please read those two articles I linked, plus How To Write An Example.

You've also been messing around in DorkAge.Video Games. It seems to me that you're mad at Capcom in general. This wiki is not the place for that sort of thing. Capcom is a major developer/publisher and it is factually incorrect to call it a Fallen Creator.
You need to rethink why you are here, if you're going to spend your time hating on stuff.

Whenever the gaming forum digs up the latest news and reviews from the game review sites like IGN and Gamespot and pick out those that defined Capcom's disappointing performance or any company which has lately attracted the ire of the internet.
They Changed It, Now It Sucks! is not the same as Fallen Creator.
Quoting from the page: "This is not meant as a Take That against creators you don't like. If you yourself think a creator has declined, but the general public still thinks highly of him/her, then don't add them as an example."

Added to that, we don't give a crap about reviews on this wiki. That's all audience reaction stuff that has no bearing on our mission. Just because a company has released a few games that got panned does not make them a fallen creator. Your claim to be "documenting public opinion" is blatantly ridiculous, or at least won't fly on this wiki.

tryourbreast, I aplogise for taking so long to get abck to you. On YKTTW: it does seem that you get how yours have been weak. If you aren't sure whether something is a trope, tagging the YKTTW with "Is This Tropable" or "Is this People Sit On Chairs?" will make it clear that you are not simply assuming it's a trope.
On the point about general versus narrow, we can always use more people looking for missing supertrope; the more general trope that has several narrower variants. Tagging your YKTT Ws with something like "Possible Missing Supertrope?" would help there; it will tell the people who comment that you are aware of the similarity to existing tropes and think that what you're proposing may be a supertrope. That will cut down on the "duplicates <X>" type of confusion.
Examples: If you don't have any examples at all, don't start the YKTTW. If commenters provide Zero Context Examples ("It happens in <work name>") ask for further explanation. If none is forthcoming, don't include that example when do the final write-up.

@Smasher: It's not permanent, if you work on spelling things properly. Don't leave redlinks lying around that other people have to come and fix. Take some pride in your editing.

I was told upthread that I was barred from editing in the TRS because I'd abused it before. I realize what I had done wrong in the past, and I'd like to be able to edit there again. I think another admin told me that I would be able to edit there again, but my privileges don't seem to have been reinstated yet.
