This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Your main problem is grammar, but since you just tried to ban evade, you are now gone for good.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I was not given any notification that I was suspended from editing. I feel I was unfairly suspended, since I didn't have time to reply to most notifications and don't know how to crosswick a new trope.

I have had a ban for almost two years. I wasn't given a message as to why. Is my grammar and structure really so poor as to warrant it?
~Boss Ham Ham: You've been an editor for almost a year. If you haven't figured out the wiki's basic functions by now, that's on you, and we aren't going to accept claims of ignorance. Going down the list...
- Failing to crosswick
- Improper example indentation
- Linking to YMMV tropes in primary articles
- Linking to In-Universe Examples Only pages in YMMV articles
These go a way back, too. You had plenty of chance to correct your mistakes.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~Fate Stay Who: Suspensions do not expire. You need to talk to us about them before we'll consider letting you edit again. Your issue was replacing Commonwealth spellings with American ones. We have a rule about this: it's first come, first served.
You weren't suspended because of grammar, but we do also take that very seriously.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Okay, I admit I was wrong regarding homophobia and I won't do it again. What should I do so I can be unbanned? Believe it or not, I've been trying to be more tolerant to LGBT people and abandon my homophobic habit for quite some time.
Besides, without being able to edit, I won't be able to remove the homophobic messages in my troper page. I've even tried to add my troper page to Cut List before people can read it, only to find I can't even do that, either, as long as I'm banned.
Regarding other issues, well, unfortunately I doubt I know any of them because I never actually open my inbox messages. I have anxiety disorder and incoming messages tend to trigger my anxiety in one way or another, which is why I only respond here after refraining myself from TV Tropes for about a month. All I can say is that I will try to be more behave and won't make any more trouble. If you caught me making trouble again, you can ban me permanently.
If I can't be unbanned, then so be it. But I have one last request: Please delete my troper page because I can't edit it anymore.
Edited by Phoenixion on Jan 29th 2020 at 1:05:52 AM
~Phoenixion: We haven't come to a conclusion on you yet, but why did you ask another troper to delete a page you wrote? Circumventing an edit ban in this manner and for this end is bad form.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman~Septimus Heap: I am sorry, I was just upset because I can't do anything when I'm still banned and, well, let's just say that if I can't edit my own work page, what's the point? Is it weird that I don't really want others to edit my own work page while I can't even edit it? I'm too anxious if it'd be vandalized or something.
So, what should I do now? Really, I'm genuinely confused and don't know what to do that I can't even edit my own work page and my troper page anymore.
Edited by Phoenixion on Jan 29th 2020 at 8:14:03 PM
~Phoenixion: Funny you should mention a fear of vandalism, because page blanking is usually treated as vandalism. Meat-puppetry is an even worse offense; the only reason ~Seven Star Swordz wasn't immediately perma-banned for that was due to this ongoing discussion of your suspension and the apparent connection to you.
~Willbyr: I am really sorry for that, okay? I promise I will not do that again. I'm trying to change and be a better person and can only hope to be given another chance.
Phoenixion attempted to ban evade and has been bounced. You'd think people would learn, but this one was predictable in hindsight.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hey when is my suspension is going to end
I would like for my suspension to be lifted because I want to address a few of the more biased entries I've read regarding the movie Muppets Most Wanted.
How can I appeal my suspension?
~lugia1 You will get them back if you convince us that you won't repeat the mistakes that got you here. Your constant neglecting to use punctuation is not helping your chances.
Now tell us: why were you removing wiki links and accent marks?

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThis is your second ban revolving around the Complete Monster topic, this time constantly bringing up embargoed characters. Now, why should we give you a third chance?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI only got banned right after making one suggestion of an entry regarding a character that was already voted numerous times. That was a mistake. Again, I apologize. I just can’t keep track of your decisions and what you add on each page and when you add them.
Edited by WretchedDog2 on Jan 29th 2020 at 8:26:56 AM
If you can't be bothered to learn how the topic works after multiple warnings, then why should we let you use it? It's not a right.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I got how many warnings?
~Wretched Dog 2: You were suspended July 2019 for breaking the rules of the CM topic. One would think this would prompt you to actually learn the rules. Apparently this assumption is wrong in your case.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So... I just got suspended, apparently for adding the Special Effects Failure entry to Warcraft's YMMV page, as it was deleted by Fighteer. So... What happens now? I get the part about complaining, but what else?
Edited by PRH on Jan 31st 2020 at 4:16:53 PM
~PRH: What you were doing is called Edit Warring, when you add back an example that was deleted without discussing it first. It's also a problem that your example did not fit the trope, but that's not the reason for the suspension.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Edit warring? Sorry, I wasn't aware that someone else had already added that entry on that page. Rest assured, that wasn't intentional. I'm not the type to engage in edit wars. And, as I'm reviewing the edit history for Warcraft, it seems to me that I was actually the first editor to mention that issue - unless someone else had already mentioned it on the main page or somewhere else.

I would like to know why I was banned? The character I edited is to correct a misconception of him.
i had no clear reason why i was revoked. i don't answer much because i am busy and i'm happy to acknowledge any mistakes i have made while editing.
