This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hello, It appears that I have been suspended for re-adding an entry to the Broken Base section of Spider-Man: Homecoming. I had no idea about the reason why this entry was deleted in the first place. I never saw the cleanup page for Broken Base nor did I have any idea that there was one since I usually never go onto the Broken Base pages. I did not mean to start an edit war and I am sorry for doing it in the first place. Would someone please remove my suspension and reinstate me? I promise that this will not happen again. I love editing on TV Tropes and promise to ask people before deleting or adding content. Please give me another chance to rectify myself.

Hello. I am evilkid. My editing right is suspended since around June. I did what the instructions say in FAQ page (write an apology there) but I am still suspended. Maybe I am not clear in one thing or another and please tell what I miss.
Sometimes I am under the moonlight and sometimes under the sunlight.I was suspended a while back, in 2017, after mouthing off to a mod after one of my posts got thumped - which I acknowledge was the latest of a string of quarrelsome and unpleasant behavior. I'll admit that my temper still gets away from me, and for that reason, I'm not asking for my forum suspension to be lifted at all, only to be allowed to edit the wiki. I never stopped visiting the site, even though I could no longer do anything, but at this point I would like to be able to contribute again.
Apologies for the double post, but I'm unable to edit. I'm also PM banned, so I can't read the message I just received...
Good day,
I am just writing to inquire about the reason behind my editing suspension and what I can do to rectify that.
I strongly suspect that it has something with my edit on the Mother's Basement YMMV page, something which (if that is the case) I can most definitely say I have learnt from.
Kind Regards,

Mass reply:
~Kalaong: Your suspension is a double-whammy. Restoring that entry on Fridge.Spider Man Homecoming after it was deleted without talking it over with anyone first is an Edit War. Secondly, the "Stark-strokers" and "Tony-stans" comments were rude and unnecessary.
~Kion2525: I don't know how to put this any more clearly than it was explained to you in the MLP: FIM thread, and after two mods warned you to stop the Single-Issue Wonk-ing. When you're asked to drop a topic of discussion because it's disrupting the thread, you drop it.
~Thetropemaster101: Your suspension was indeed for that Broken Base entry. When you see that something you've added has been removed wholesale, it's always a good idea to check the page history to see if an edit reason explaining the removal has been left. Clear?
Also, it bears mentioning that this is your second suspension.
~Evil Kid: Looking through your last few edits, I'm seeing major grammar issues, along with adding Zero-Context Examples on pages. Before you can be allowed to edit again, you'll need to post any edits you want to make in the Get Help with English thread
to get your grammar to a proper state.
~Perseus: That's a fair enough request. All your suspensions have been lifted except for forum posting.
~octobersanctuary: Your suspension was indeed for the Edit War of that Broken Base entry on YMMV.Mothers Basement. As I told Thetropemaster101, check the history before restoring something you've added. Understood?

Thank you, sir. I understand. May you please release me from this suspension and give me another chance? I promise that I will try not get suspended again.

I didn't quite understand, are you saying my issue was answered in the my little pony thread? if so, I really don't think it was but I will let it go reglardless and wanted to talk in the cleanup thread now.
~Thetropemaster101: You're good to go.
~Kion2525: No, it wasn't answered. The Complete Monster thread is just as likely to ignore you or get on your case for bringing this up as the FIM thread is, and will likely want to report you even faster since A) it's a dedicated cleanup thread and B) FIM is pretty much a verboten topic in there due to being brought up before and getting shot down.

~TVLubber: Sorry for the delay.
It doesn't matter if you feel a deletion is "justified". YMMV entries can naturally have entries you don't agree with. That's the point.
Deleting YMMV entries outright will need a discussion first. Valid venues include applicable project threads if the trope has one, the page's discussion tab, or private messaging with the other party involved.
Below are the only valid reasons to remove a YMMV without discussing it first:
- Cleanup efforts/trope cuts (since the discussion's done already).
- Factually incorrect entries. Be sure to note specifically what's wrong in the edit reason.
- Examples that are played with; only played straight examples are permitted in YMMV.
- Any entries that violate TV Tropes guidelines (for example, an entry that's bashing an actor).
If this happens again, you will be gone for good. Understand?

I had others besides MLP things to bring up in the Complete Monster cleanup thread but also would have argued that perhaps they could be reconsidered since some of the characters that did make the cut are rather tame.
~Willbyr, well yes. I noted my problems and would try to avoid those in the future.
Sometimes I am under the moonlight and sometimes under the sunlight.~Kion2525: The Complete Monster thread has an absolute moratorium on MLP characters, which you'd know if you'd read it. Considering the number of times we've collectively told you to drop the topic, and the number of times you have failed to drop it, your forum ban will not be removed.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~ Berrenta
Understood.
By the way, I sent messages to the other parties involved, but they've yet to reply.

~TVLubber: Sending messages doesn't excuse an edit war. If you don't get a satisfactory response, you should go to Ask The Tropers or the forums to request help. Got it?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~Rawr: You ignored example writing rules on Characters. The Walking Dead TV Show Abrahams Group, and then edit warred when someone corrected you. It is never correct to put two trope names together in the same example, as "Hair-Trigger Temper / Hot-Blooded: ..."
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~ Fighteer Anyway, the issue has been worked out (no need to wait for replies).
With that out of the way, and with a fair warning from Berrenta, I request my suspension be lifted (not right now, though; I could use another day off from editing here, anyway).

~TVLubber: Well, I'm not going to set an alarm to take it off at 9 PM GMT tomorrow. I've removed your suspension; feel free to resume editing whenever you like.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I was busy at work that day so I wasn't able to look at said message.
Well you can look at it now. That's how forums work: messages are persistent and can be read later.

I have gone on a Single-Issue Wonk on other sites before and always feel bad about it and am trying not to do it anymore. do I have to say what I want to say on the Complete Monster cleanup thread here or do more to convince my suspention to be lifted?
and about what happened on this forum, I just wanted my question answered and it wouldn't have gotten out of hand. no one really explained to me why I could make a headcanon of something when the series I would be making it for makes that impossible as I see it.
