This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hi, i am no longer able to edit and am unsure why. While i have read the rules, i only contributed to the wiki sporadically. I am therefore rather unsure what caused the suspension or how long it has been in effect. I would greatly appreciate if you could clear this up.

You appear to have issues regarding wiki markup, along with spelling/grammar issues. Grammar problems, left unchecked, only serve as more work for other users.
I suggest that you run some examples you'd like to add through the Get Help with English thread. You'll receive tips from other users on how to correct any errors that you make.

About a month ago I was forum banned for my frequent inability to remain civil. I took some time to reflect on that and think I can do better in the future and reduce my snark and hostility. So I ask for permission to post again.
I wish to edit again, please. I get that I'm warring on the YMMV page for Game Xplain on calling Jon The Scrappy. And that trope is now in the No Real Life Examples, Please!

Hello, my name is Manny 20444 and I have just been edit banned. The reason is due to the fact that I am friends with The Tropemaster 101 irl, who I allowed to use my phone in order to create his account on this website. We edited together usually and he kept breaking a lot of rules on this site, so now the mods think that he and I are the same just because we use the same device sometimes. May I please be unbanned from editing? I have not created any more accounts and I don’t want to cheat at all nor break any rules. Please? I’m sorry for anything that he did. I love TV Tropes and it is a value to be editing on this website. I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that, not even cheat. I promise that nothing will happen again.

First, chill out. We aren't at your beck and call.
Second, while I'm not going to challenge your assertion that you and your friend both edit from the same devices, the point is that you're both making the same edits to the same pages, many of which violate our rules, such as Zero-Context Example and Example Indentation in Trope Lists. You might as well be the same person for all we can tell.
Enthusiasm is great, but unless you follow the wiki's guidelines, it creates messes for other people to clean up.
