This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I thought this was for fan fiction. I'm sorry I made a really dumb fan fiction and added it. I then tried to delete it which made it show up more in the launches page, I'm not really sure what the effects of that are. I now know what a trope is and what the TKTTW page is. @Outlander Omega: We allow Fan Fiction here, certainly. We have whole indexes of it. Fanfics get created as any other media article and do not require YKTTW, but they go in the Fan Fic namespace. We ask that you observe our policies on formatting, indexing, and wicking to newly created pages. Also, this site is not a place to host fanfiction, just describe it. If you follow the policies, you are welcome to tell us about your story.

I'm running a new version of Safari on a new operating system. So whatever was causing the previous problems should be be gone. Is there any way I can test this safely? I don't want to wreak on any article I try to edit.

I'd suggest the Wiki Sandbox. We can remove your wiki restrictions if you promise only to test your editing in there until you're sure the problem is gone.

Yes. In the future, please ask if you aren't sure that you're doing something correctly. Also, we did not block your editing rights, just your YKTTW privileges. Please don't go back to YKTTW and try to recreate that article. Do it the proper way.

It appears that I was banned a while ago for blanking a page. In hindsight, it was probably a pretty childish thing for me to do; but I legitimately felt I was doing the right thing by blanking that page at the time. Would it be possible for me to be un-banned?

@Moon Metropolis: I assume that the content team cut some work articles you had an interest in, and you decided to lash out at us? These acts of Internet vigilantism really don't impress us, and they earn you an automatic ban for your trouble. If you want to make your concerns known about our Content Policy, there are appropriate places to do it and appropriate ways to express yourself.
We've made a decision that we won't be hosting articles about certain types of content. If you can accept that and continue to use the wiki productively, we can restore your privileges. If not, you may wish to go elsewhere. If we do restore your privileges, it'll be on a zero tolerance basis.

Hi. I'd like to be able to edit again, and I'm quite sure that I've only been banned because of a mistake I made that I was actually going to change but I wanted to be sure.
Can you tell me what I did wrong and how I can avoid making the mistake again some time in the future? Also, is there a time limit to my edit being banned and/or do I need to do something to earn this privilege back?

I see. Alright, thank you for clearing that up. I'll look this over and see how I can improve myself as a troper.
I was not intending to "lash out" at anyone; I was blanking an article that I assumed would soon be removed anyways since it no longer reflects current policy. It was not "internet vigilantism", nor was it an act of anger.
I've posted edits on quite a few things, sometimes in fits and spurts and sometimes once every few months. Not sure what specifically happened that I got suspended for, but I do apologize :(

@Chazz: Like so many tropers who show up here, you appear to have a poor grasp of our policies on Conversation In The Main Page and Example Indentation. You also persistently misuse tropes like Expy, Beyond the Impossible, and It Got Worse. Lastly, you aren't properly formatting work titles.
In the main wiki, we require consistency of style and formatting and we want the wiki to speak to the reader with one voice, not a bunch of voices debating with each other. If you want to chat with your fellow tropers, use the Discussion pages or these forums.

For the others, I do apologize, as I admit I tend to start slipping excessive links in, and I've tried to keep outright discussion to a minimum after my last warning, only intending to include examples rather than huff and puff. I've apparently not done a good job and will try to refrain as such.
As far as formatting work titles, I honestly don't know where I did this wrong; I've added to pages but not created any that I remember, unless there was some step along the editing process I've either not been aware of or simply forgot somewhere along the line?
@Odysseus56 - I forgot to mention, please don't pothole anything that is YMMV or an Audience Reaction on main pages, like the crowning moment tropes.
