This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Okay, so I have been suspended from the TLP because I was noted for repeatedly discarding drafts willy-nilly. Look, I honestly at first didn't realize that these actions were wrong, I (very wrongly) assumed I was just doing some maintenance by getting rid of heavily-downvoted TLP drafts. I swear that I won't do any more arbitrary mass deletions from here on.
~Abcdef-no: I'm going to take a risk here and restore your editing privileges, but I want the following from you in return: don't create articles without getting feedback first. Is that acceptable? You can ask about this in Ask The Tropers or the Wiki Talk forum.
~Acomicfan1: Alright, I'll release your suspension. Please do not just jump in and remake the edits you wanted. Create an Ask The Tropers topic to gather consensus first.
~Fluffy Kyubey 11037: You're correct that you have been suspended for a while, but that's because you last edited the wiki in July, and suspensions don't just expire if you wait long enough. You engaged in an Edit War on YMMV.Undertale over an example of Unintentionally Unsympathetic. Considering that it was the first thing you ever did on our site, we have to take it seriously and make you come here to talk so we can help you understand the rules.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"What do you mean by "create"?. Do you mean start a new page like An Adventure Of Sheep And Chicken, or edit something, like a Headscratchers question on Sponge Bob Square Pants?
Just asking. It's perfectly okay.
PS: Don't want to bother you, but I don't have my editing privileges back.

I didn’t know I had started an editing war. I apologize for that but it was not my intention.
I would like to edit again. I apologize to you if I did something wrong, but it was not my intention.
~Abcdef-no: Yes, I mean that you are not permitted to start new pages without checking first. Now that we're clear, I will actually let you edit.
~Fluffy Kyubey 11037: Fine, you didn't know, but you did break our rules. Ignorance is no excuse, yadda yadda. So maybe you should take a little time to browse through the Administrivia index to see what other rules we have, okay? Let me know.
~Vukdrazic: You have been editing articles related to Xiaolin Chronicles, adding information that is incorrect or even blatantly false. One of the cardinal rules of any wiki is that the content must be accurate, and we rely on our users to provide that content. So if someone's going around spreading lies, we have to stop it.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I will be a good boy next time. Will you restore my editing privileges?
Well, before we consider releasing your suspension, we'd like to get an idea of why you did it. There seems to be no valid reason for this sort of thing, and until we figure out what's going on, how can we trust you? This isn't our first time dealing with it, and more times than not it leads to a permanent ban as the behavior continues.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Is there a faster way to get my edit privileges back? I feel like have been improving a little, but it could still take a while. I've got a great deal going on, and not enough time to make substantial improvements day-by-day. So i'll ask again, is there a arrangement we could set up to get my privileges back faster, please?
Also, is there a reason the PM system has been turned off for me?
~jahman: Your PM system has been switched off because you were attempting to get users to make edits on your behalf, which is against the rules here
.
Seriously? Is there a way to prove myself worthy of using the PM system and editing again? I can't even get inside my inbox.
Look, I apologize for that too, didn't know that it was a thing as well cause of this:
Exception: If a user is suspended for poor grammar or editing style, they may post edits they wish to make in the "Get Help with English" and "Is this an example?" threads. Once those edits are corrected, other tropers may make them on the suspended troper's behalf.
There's a lot going and I don't have a laptop or alot of time to improve my grammar and spelling day-by-day. So is there some arrangement that could be made to get me some help, along with those privileges again?

No, there isn't. We're too busy to supervise you while you blunder around trying to figure out our rules.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think I really misunderstood the nature of discarding drafts in the TLP. I didn't intend anything malicious, but it was still very stupid and I take full responsibility for that fuck-up. I won't launch or discard anything without a totally clear consensus from other users.
No mistake that I made some mistakes that needs work. I promise to go over the rules and work hard to get my rights back.

I was trying to correct the episode order of Xiaolin Chronicles. For example, "The Mask of the Green Monkey" is not the 12th episode, but the 16th one. Please check https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saolin_krB3nikA1k#Epiz.C3.B3dok

~Vukdrazic: Many of the claims you're making are disputed. See here
when your suspension is released. Are you willing to work this out in discussion?
~AHI-3000: The problem here is that you're discarding TLP drafts without attempting to participate in the discussion. Just because something has 5 bombs doesn't mean it's beyond saving, and at the very least you should hop in and see if anyone's maintaining it, then announce your intention to discard prior to actually doing so.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I understand, that I should first discuss it and announce whatever I intend to do with the draft, before doing anything with it.

~Vukdrazic: First, I didn't say to present your evidence here, but in the Ask The Tropers discussion about this matter. But second, and more importantly, you've blatantly violated our rule about posting links to pirated content. I feel like there's some sort of True Colors Aesop to be learned.
Now, rather than convince us that you can cooperatively edit the wiki, you need to convince us why your suspension should not change to a permanent ban. Choose your words carefully.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"My suspension should not change to a permanent ban because I noticed some typos at this site. This is an example: Ranma ½. It mentions "Teryl Rotherly". It should be "Teryl Rothery" instead. Please check http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0745186
. Did this satisfied you?
For some reason, I can't post at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?type=att
. Why?

~AHI-3000: Sure, I'll reopen your TLP privileges. Make sure to interact with anything you want to discard (or launch), please, and leave at least a day or two for replies.
~Vukdrazic: Bzzzt, wrong. Anyone can fix typos or spelling mistakes. We don't need you for that. You have yet to show me that you understand the problems with your edits... or your posting of links to pirated content.
~Jahman: Your posting in the Help with English topic is improving, but I noticed that you still seem to have issues with example context. Keep working at it a bit longer. I'm still not entirely certain that you grasp how we work here, though.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

I haven't logged into my TV Tropes account in literally months, then I log in and find out I can't make edits anymore. What happened?
