This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

~P Miller 1: Virtually all of it. Pointing out what's right would take less space than what's wrong. If you are really incapable of seeing that, then you need way more help than we can provide.
Edit: For giggles, here we go.
So, you want me to prove that I can improve. Look at some of my edit history. You'll see that I've made some grammar corrections myself, not just to my own edits. In fact, I want to edit so that I can fix and improve my own grammar. And improved other. note I got myself an Oxford English Spellchecker. I got NaturalReader12 to read out my typing and read some of the page itself. note And if any of them don't show improvement, just tell me.
To be sure, none of what you wrote is misspelled, but that doesn't make it grammatically correct, nor indeed comprehensible.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"You were indeed warring, again in YMMV.Dragon Ball Super, and neither you nor the other party will see eye to eye on a compromise.
This is the third time you are suspended, so unless if you can convince us, we can't let you edit any further.
~Ramona122003: I presume you mean on YMMV.Dragon Ball Super? An Edit War consists of any time when someone makes an edit, another editor changes it, and that first party changes it back to the way they had it, prior to resolving the matter via discussion. For some reason, you don't seem capable of editing articles about Dragon Ball without getting into arguments.
As noted above,
, this is the third time. Our patience is up.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"No, look at the YMMV history. All I did was make small edit changes to the entry and expanded on some points. I changed none of Snow's edit. It was only really the edit reason that I explained why I didn't agree with Snow's views, but overall the entry remained the same.
But I didn't make any real changes, Fighter. All I did was add some stuff. I didn't change anything back from whats Snow added except erased 'back'.

There's a back-and-forth between the two of you regarding Fusion Zamasu. That's an Edit War.
"Yup. That tasted purple."But we didn't change each other entries. Snow did some grammar corrections the entry. I added to my original point. Snow did some more grammar corrections, and I cleaned up some grammar points and added some more context. It was only really the edit reason box that we debated, but neither of us touched the actual entry outside of corrections. I never changed the entry back to how it was, you can see that from the page history.
Granted, we should've have used the edit reason box like that, which is why we went into the discussion. But overall, we didn't go and forward changing the entry. If you look when I first wrote the edit, Snow only made minor changes and so did I. I didn't even touch the changes they made.

Fine! So they was some wrong words in there, But that spelling error!
I'm doing what I told you. I've edited to fix some of them!
And that's the last we'll see of you.
Fighter, I implore to please look at the edit history again and see that me and Snow didn't editor war. We both made small changes, but neither of us changed any major points. we didn't even erased anything on Fusion Zamasu. It was only in the edit reasons that we had our disagreement, but both of us didn't put our different point-of-views on the page: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=YMMV.DragonBallSuper
You can see right here that the only things I added in my last entry were: Zamasu, especially Black? The manga doesn't explain this twist brought and it honestly opens more questions, which is a sentence I original wrote and self-destruction or more like Majin Buu's regeneration?
Nothing else was changed.
Hi there,
I was wondering how I would go about getting my editing privileges reinstated. I posted in this thread a few days ago and it was explained to me that I had posted a "not-for-pages" example (Character Derailment) on a YMMV page. Since then, I haven't heard anything further about what I might need to do in order to restore my status as an editor. I completely understand the nature of my suspension (although my earlier post was made in error, and I had honestly confused 'Character Derailment' with being a YMMV trope, I can still see why this would lead to a suspension), but is there anything further I need to do?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello moderators. So I found out I've been banned and reading through what was stated above I am clear on the reasons. Firstly I would like to apologise for causing any trouble. I was under the impression that discussing an edit in the edit comments, without removing or readding the actual edit wasn't considered edit warring. If this is the case I will refrain from it. Secondly, what I did was genuinely a mistake and it will not happen again. I usually try hard to make constructive edits like correcting grammatical errors, while checking if tropes are used correctly.
I understand if my suspension won't be lifted, but if it does I will take extra care to show I will be constructive and abide by the rules from now on.
You were involved in an edit war/dispute over an Ass Pull example in Dragon Ball Super. While it's nice that it was brought to discussion, the discussion should have started a lot earlier (as in, once the entry was brought into question), and neither of you were able to settle with a compromise.
Judging by how the discussion went nowhere between the two of you, we may need a third party to pitch in, preferably someone familiar with the work. Maybe we can start fresh with a new thread in the discussion page, or see about it in the Is This an Example? thread
. Will that do?
Berrenta22nd, I know it is hard to believe, but there wasn't an Edit War (delation and re-adding), just a disagreement. Neither me nor Snow changed each other entries. What I wrote for Fusion Zamasu under Ass Pull remained the same even with Snow's edit and I only added to my original my point. There was no back and forward deletion or re-adding, which the history of the page shows.
The disagreement was only in the edit box, which we thought was okay if we settled things quickly. When they didn't happened, we went to the Discussion forum where things got heated. We didn't want an Edit War, which is why neither of us changed the entry after it was written. Snow even made grammar corrections on it.
I can understand why you won't believe me on this, but please checked the history and see that neither me nor Snow messed with the entry outside of small corrections and Snow delated nothing.

Hello, I find myself unexpectedly banned. I suspect it is because of the many changes listed under my account on the MCU Avengers pages that were slightly biased. I would like to explain that my younger sister got onto my account when I accidentally forgot to log out of it before leaving the site. Please rest assured I have taken precautions to make sure this incident will not happen again. If this is due to my lacking indexes, on the Beast Wars recap pages I am working on, then I apologize sincerely as I am still learning how to index pages. Thank you and please contact me as soon as is convenient.
Just for the record, we don't consider "it was my friend / sibling / child" to be a valid explanation for problematic edits. In addition, this is an admission that the account in question is no-longer secure and needs to be locked down.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Berrenta22nd. I can confirm that we didn't add or delete anything in the edits, we just had a discussion using the edit summaries that weren't directly relevant to what was edited in the article. If that constitutes as edit warring I accept I'm in the wrong, but would like to make sure that is cleared up first.
I did suggest a third party at the time if it is really needed to end the discussion.
Okay. Hopefully we can have more voices heard on the matter.
Releasing.
Berrenta22nd, I am perma-ban?
As I said, we didn't Edit War, nor it was my intention. This was a misunderstanding since I changed nothing of Snow's changes.
I fully admit that we shouldn't have used the edit box the way we did, but neither thought that was an Edit War since the original entry remained intact and neither of us changed it.

You got into disputes before on the same page and this is your third strike, as we've said before.
So yes, your time is up.
You appear to have several issues, including incorrect indexing, natter, potholing a YMMV trope in a non-YMMV page, and grammar.
Good afternoon. Today I suddenly discovered that I can not edit the pages, although my last edit was made yesterday and I did not conduct any wars or disputes on the forum. However, I suspect that it's in my poor grammar. In that case, what should I do?

So what were you doing on YMMV.Urara Meirocho?
"Yup. That tasted purple."

Hi, I find myself unexpectedly ban. I can only figure it because me and Snow got into a heated discussion on the YMMV thread.
I don't see why I was ban since although heated, I kept it fairly civil and there was no edit war between us.
