This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

~Kalle: Per our policy, documented here, you may not delete articles for your own work, nor may you blank them as a means of getting them deleted. The primary reasons we permit work articles to be deleted are if: (a) they no longer exist in any form accessible to anyone, (b) they violate our Content Policy or other rules.
In the first case, it requires more than just your word. Copies of everything exist on the Internet, whether we want them to or not. You don't own your TV Tropes article and you have no say as to whether your work gets documented.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So even if I was the one who originally made the page, I still don't own it? That's... kind of confusing, if I can be honest. :c
Also the story wasn't even written at the time, so is it even worth it to keep a page for something that doesn't even exist beyond a few malformed character outlines? I'm not trying to be confrontational about this, I swear, I think it's just a lot of things changed here between the time I made that page and now.
We have never permitted authors to delete pages for their work. If it was never completed or published, then it should not have been made in the first place, or should have gone in Darth Wiki, where we keep Unpublished Works.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Then in that case, I think some attention needs to be paid to the Fanworks section of the Pretty Cure page because there are a number of similar cases to mine, where the fic was never written or posted anywhere but the page still exists. :/
That hardly seems unlikely. There isn't enough manpower to monitor every fanfic article to see whether the thing actually exists. Doesn't mean we permit rules violations. I'll release your suspension, and we can probably cut the article for your fic.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I am not sure why I have been suspended. I was editing a page for historical inaccuracies when someone reversed my edits and suspended me.
You were edit warring in Transgender Fetishization, and during that time, the edit reasons you made are in bad taste, to put it mildly.
Hello, I recently got suspended over a minor Edit War in a YMMV page.
Indeed, you were, over an example for Anvilicious.
If someone contests an example you added or removed, what should you be doing instead?
I was also involved in that Edit War. I take full responsibility for my actions, and for not familiarizing myself better with the editing rules. If it were possible, however, I would like to bring the topic to discussion.
Vexer, you are correct.
Agathaumas, good to hear.
Lifting both of your suspensions.

If that's the case. I apologize for Edit Warring and will avoid doing so in the future.
~Brown Emolga: What concerns us in addition to the edit war itself is that you insisted on including an edit reason labeling certain parts of the article as "Western imperialism". I'm not sure if you've been exposed to the Tropes Are Tools concept, but in general we are not making value judgments by stating that tropes are applied in certain ways in certain cultures. We are simply stating facts.
This is an important concept because we have another policy called Righting Great Wrongs: that is, if you're here to bring about a "correct" point of view to articles, you're going to very rapidly run into trouble.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~Kquinn0830: Edit war on YMMV.Last Man Standing. You should know not to argue with people in the article, but bring it to our attention.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm sorry for accusing people of Western imperialism. I will avoid making such value judgments in the future.
I wasn't arguing. A user was defacing the YMMV page and injecting their personal political beliefs into it. The only thing I did was restore it and pointed out in the edit reason that the page has a Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment warning.
I would like to have my editing privileges restored. I let a few weeks pass after my suspension, and promise to both check my spelling and for redlinks before saving any edit, along with any other issues that need to be resolved.
Okay, so long as you don't go back to making such edits/edit reasons, I'll go and lift your suspension. Happy troping.

This is the second time you are suspended for grammar-based issues, this time centering on word confusion. You may need to revisit the Get Help with English thread to ensure you use the proper form of certain words, like their, there, and they're.
In addition, there are issues with Word Cruft we need to address.
SO basically, cut down on how much is in any entry, and try to make sure to use the proper there. I will make sure to do that.
To clarify, this is what Zany Seamare actually put as their edit reason for their changes to the page.
"Mike, not sexist, homophobic, or racist? Hahahaha! What plastic bubble have you been living in? Not only does he show characteristics too sexist for anyone in the 2000s calling themselve a feminist, a racist joke is a racist joke, no matter what. And don't get me started on homophobia. He's just a typical conservative piece of shit, same as Tim Allen."
Sorry that I skipped you. We brought you here because you got involved in an edit war. While I appreciate that you wanted to enact ROCEJ, let us know firsthand if the other user violates that rule. Especially when they give an edit reason like that.
We'll chat with him once he drops by this thread.
Why were my editing privileged removed? I tried to find out what I did wrong by going through all of my edits and cannot find what I did to deserve a ban. I haven't even made any edits for nearly 3 months now. Was it something I did way back when?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Hi, I'm really confused as to why I've had my editing privileges suspended? The last thing I remember trying to do was to cut list an old work of mine from the Pretty Cure fanworks index because I didn't want to have any trace of it on the internet anymore, but I was told I had to edit the page to fix it and then I couldn't edit anything anymore.
I try not to stir the pot intentionally, so I'm hoping we can work this out. :T
