This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I'll make sure to check from now on before I add something to make sure it doesn't happen again.

A week later and i'm still edit banned, and haven't gotten a response. Am i doing something wrong here? PS: I'll stop censoring folder names too. Forgot that one :P

~Truffle: You received several notifications about example indentation via PM and did not correct the problem, so we need to make sure you understand our style rules. Which of these is right?

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~Gamermaster: Thanks. Your suspension has been removed.
~Fiery Lion 428: Sorry, must have missed you. You are correct that we do not permit the names of tropes to be spoiler-tagged in trope lists, nor the titles of works in work lists, nor folder names, nor any part of the description text of an article or character. We also highly discourage the spoiler-tagging of entire examples. Our wiki is supposed to be readable, and that's hindered when articles look like they were attacked by crazed redacters.
Philosophically, we care less about people getting accidentally spoiled than we do about our wiki conveying information in an accessible format.
Can you abide by these rules?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yes, i can abide by these rules if i can edit again. Thinking about it now, even though i thought these rules where stupid, given the general set up of the wiki, you really should know the full story of the work your in question before viewing it's trope entries. So i can understand this philosophy now.
I understand that TV Tropes is not the appropriate place to start Twitter Petitions. Please forgive my awkwardness.
Dormammu, i've come to bargain
I'm not sure when or how I've gotten suspended, but I'm attempting to add content to some anemic pages, and I need the power. My apologies if I've overstepped my bounds, it won't happen again.
Everything I do is driven by the vision of B~Fiery Lion 428: Good. While you're at it, please capitalize properly. The grammar in your forum posts makes me concerned about your future editing. Suspension released.
~A-wasted-life: Correct. We aren't here to advertise anyone's petitions. As a matter of policy, the wiki does not take sides or advance agendas. I'll release your suspension, but be warned: there won't be any more tolerance.
~Ziodyne: You were engaged in an Edit War over a Tier Induced Scrappy example on YMMV.Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse. We don't appreciate people using wiki articles to conduct their debates. If someone removes an example, take it to Discussion and resolve the matter before adding it back.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Received a notice of suspension with no explanation, am reaching out to find out why I received it.
~Crantastic: You're either running a text replacement program that's changing "literally" to "figuratively" or doing it on purpose. Either way, it's not kosher and needs to stop.
Sorry, that's one of my browser extensions. I've disabled it for this site.
~Crantastic: Good. I've removed your suspension.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I see
My apologies, I never intended to get into a feud with someone, but I realize now that my editing was disrespectful
Everything I do is driven by the vision of BThis is in response to Fighteer's question. I have been reading through the Example Indentation page to get a better understanding of the layout.
I think the correct choice is the second one:
- Trope
- Exmple
- Example

That is the correct response, ~Truffle. Releasing suspension.
~Ziodyne: Right. I'm releasing your suspension.
~Bleepbot: You appear to be a sockpuppet of Gone Rampant, et. al. You do realize that when we ban you, that means you don't get to come back, right?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hi there. I noticed that I was suspended from editing pages, but I'm not entierly sure what exactly I did to warrant this. I would like to know what it was so that I may know how to avoid doing it again.
~Sorantheman: You appear to have copy-pasted the description of Canoness Veridyan verbatim from what looks to be the 40K Wikia site, and that's considered plagiarism, which isn't kosher under any circumstances. I know that there's new stuff that needs to be added to the 40K character pages, and that she doesn't appear to have much more than that available for a description at the moment, but it's better to not have the content then to rip it straight from another source.

I see. I'll make sure not to repeat the same misstake form now on.
It's been a week (or does it? I can't remember.) after I tried the Get Help With English page, while it does help a lot, somehow, I still made quite a few mistakes there. I started to wonder how long it'd take to make 3000 perfect edit proposals without a mistake and thus become eligible to edit again.

I didn't realize I was doing that. Is that the only thing I'm doing wrong? I'd like to know if there is anything else so I can be sure not to do it again.
