This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

No. You don't own your review, and you don't get to delete comments just because you dislike them. This isn't You Tube. You submit a review, it's open to public commentary.
The fact that you used a sockpuppet to delete them is doubly dishonest. I am not restoring your review privileges.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI don't recall the rules saying that. But I won't remove comments on my reviews again.
Even if you wanted to, you cannot. Editing comments has been disabled. But no, you aren't getting those privileges back. Both times you've been here before, you stated ignorance of the rules, and were suspended because you couldn't leave in opinions contrary to your own. Indeed, those comments on the review disagreed with your assessment of the show, so you deleted them. But this isn't your personal board. This is the third time you're here. You've had your chances. I am not restoring your review privileges.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer"Kamen Rider Ookalf: You were suspended over getting into an Edit War on whether to use Ho Yay or Les Yay on YMMV.Smile Pretty Cure. Let me go ahead and say that's a ridiculous thing to edit war over. Either name is fine."
Ah... When I did that, I was just kind of assuming that it would be generally preferable to use the "proper" trope name over a redirect... I apologize if I was mistaken.
All right, I think I understand now... I'll try to be more careful in the future.
Alright. Happy troping!
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI went to edit a page and found out I've had it revoked. Explain, please.
You pulled the image on 1000 Origami Cranes even though it had a moderator note not to do so. In addition you were involved in an Edit War on Drakengard.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI'm sorry about 1000 Origami Cranes and I'll tone down the war in Drakengard's character page.
It's been over a month and my un-warned suspension still hasn't been lifted. I only had just joined within the previous week, and saw a severe case of vandalism. While trying to fight the vandalism I got suspended for it, without any warning whatsoever. What's going on?

Soap on a trope: It's sudsyAlright I'll let it go but I still know plenty of fans of that particular movie. I promise not to Edit War over such trivial things. I'd rather just look at the discussions and try to help this wiki.
Sterkly, you have exactly zero understanding of the situation. Let me lay it down for you:
- You added a couple of tropes on Anime.Pokemon.
- Someone else removed them, telling you to take them to the character sheet, because character specific tropes go to the character sheet alone.
- You kept re-adding them saying their removal is vandalism.
- After both of you were suspended, you made a sockpuppet to try and re-add them.
So let's see....you got into an Edit War because you were adding tropes in the wrong place. You seem to think their removal is vandalism. It is not. You then made a sock puppet to edit. That's ban-evasion. You then sent me a bunch of PMs in an imperative tone, telling me I "restored vandalism" and "it's only my first offence, so it's unfair!" In the case of an Edit War with ten whole reverts, it doesn't matter if it's your first offence. If you don't stop, we suspend you.
You come here a month later, and still show no understanding of what you did wrong. That's three strikes so far.
Idisagree, I will lift your suspension, but I expect not to see such behaviour again.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerCan someone please unban me? I wanted to edit and check pages again.
@Nate - You seem to be unable to stop complaining on discussion pages, the forums, and Ask The Tropers about every little thing that bothers you, including invoking Tropers Law. That is not what those pages are for and you have previously been warned about using discussion pages and ATT that way.
You also have a problem with adding Zero Context Examples and a Single-Issue Wonk with anything you perceive as being wikipedia-like.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.^ Honestly, I just came to TV Tropes because it has a lot of interesting information and I wanted to edit articles and create new ones. And when I created a new article on Wikipedia, an admin put a deletion tag on it, and I tried to remove the tag several times, only for the admin to block me for it. So I used this site more than Wikipedia for a while. Plus, back in 2004-2010, this site has a lot more freedom than today, but then the next year it became as corrupt as Wikipedia admins are.

You're missing the point. We are not here to hear you soapboxing about your issues with Wikipedia. They are irrelevant. Hijacking discussion pages and ATT for your pet issues is enough.
This is a big site. It is in the top hundred largest wikis on the net. It cannot function without rules. If you're not willing to obey them, or the idea that they exist, sorry, but we can't help you.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSeriously, I won't complain on those pages anymore from now on. I'm very sorry about that. So I'd like to be unbanned and I'm gonna calm down.
I know I was acting hostile on those discussion pages, forums and Ask The Tropers, but I won't do that anymore. So please unban me.
Fine. I'll just deal with plain editing. But one of those comments was a direct insult to me.
^ What do you mean?
If someone insults you on the Wiki, instead of removing the insult, alert the mods to the situation and you'll get much better results than what you would get alone.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.I'm guessing I won't have my suspension lifted?
Isn't it my review? So doesn't that mean I can control what comments go there or not, like youtube videos?
