This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hm....so you removed all of my posts from the LGBT Rights in America thread. But, the ones I left in LGBT Rights in Religion are untouched, so far. I still don't see how I turn every discussion into my thoughts on Christianity, and I've asked you both here and via PM with no answer.
However, it would appear based on your....moderation....that if I simply don't mention Christianity or religion at all in the LGBT Rights in America thread, you'll be placated. Is this accurate?
If so, I agree I will not mention it at all. If it's not a problem, perhaps you'd like to use your....mod tag thingie (the hot pink thing) to let everyone else know to keep Christian-bashing out of the thread.
Is this sufficient to lift my ban, or was there something else? Or was this a permanent ban? An answer would be appreciated.

It was an honor@Best Of, I haven't used this account on any public computers, so I'm a bit uneasy about it. I've run scans with two different anti-virus programs, but nothing came up suggesting something that would censor pages. I have however, done scans in the past between the suspension and now.
I have found myself suspended for some reason. This is particularly odd since all the edits I've done were either with misspellings or flat out incorrect/rude entries in tropes. If there's something I've done to break the rules, I would like to know.
@Electrostatus: The issue here is that any program you may be running that modifies the content of web pages that you visit will also modify the content of pages you edit, and then submit the censored text back to the wiki.
You said you haven't visited the wiki in a year; this coincides with the time of the account's suspension. There's no reason to suspect a compromise; and even if there had been, why would they pretend to be you and edit pages with a nanny filter? That's just ridiculous.
No, the issue here is almost certainly a filtering application that was running on a machine you used to edit. If you are certain that you are not, now, running any such application, then we may release your suspension, but be warned that if you do it again, there won't be another opportunity to fix it.
@Voltra The Lively: We've had some concerns about apparent edit warring on BrokenAesop.Western Animation over some Equestria Girls examples. Wiki etiquette means we don't just keep deleting and readding contested examples until our opponents get tired. We discuss them. Please acknowledge this.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Oh, a filtering application makes more sense. I think I might know what happened then. I have a profanity filter on my browser that I have completely forgotten I had. That might be why. I'll have to disable that then. Would any other browser plug-ins (I.E. Stylish) also cause similar issues?
Might I receive an answer to my ban? I agree to not mention religion at all in the LGBT Rights in American at all, so I'm thinking that'll satisfy any real or imagined accusations of turning the conversation to my thoughts on Christianity.
Or if I'm permanently banned from OTC, I'd like to know that too.

It was an honorWell, "posting's been turned off" for me, leading me to conclude that I've been banned. I think most of my thumps probably happened in OTC, apparently I'm too emotional to properly argue there, so I'd like to ask for an OTC perma ban only? I'll understand if that's not possible, but I like the forum here so I had to ask.
Kay, I'm in the same boat. My posting has been turned for all foras except this one.
My President is Funny Valentine. If that's temporary suspension I promise to not post at On Topic Conversations at all. Too tired of being thumped anyway for my opinions.
My President is Funny Valentine. Why was I banned again? What happened on "implied love inetrest" was not an edit war, that was me and wyldchyld not knowing how to word the example. We talked about it over P Ms and agreed on an example.
Apparently I can still edit pages, and this is my first suspension. Does it mean I can get second chance? As I said before, I'll exile myself permamently from On Topic Conversations. I enjoy other parts of the forum more, so I'd like not to part with it and I shall agree to every condition you suggest. And to continue my Role Playing campaign here
My President is Funny Valentine. And sorry I P Med already a mod about it, I did not notice the clause that I have to go there first. I deeply apologize for bothering.
My President is Funny Valentine.Katsura, you were banned from the Fora, which doesn't prevent you from editing. You're only banned from the Fora.
The reason you were banned is that in the LGBT discussion, you attacked your opponent, rather than their argument. This is a fundamental part of proper debate etiquette: address the argument, not the person.
In general, you can talk about arguments but you shouldn't make judgments about people.
You sig is inflammatory, so you should think about changing it to something less offensive. It can still express an unpopular opinion - just make sure it's no worse than what you'd tolerate from the other side.

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.fantasoda22, you left a snarky comment about a certain segment of the Inu Yasha shipping community on DieForOurShip.Inu Yasha after you got a ban for getting into that same argument and after Fighteer specifically said not to bring the subject up again.
@#3894
Fighteer: Fine by me, at least. It seems like I have several things that I forgot to learn in my English and grammar. Also, I should've known not to rush into my edits and checked all of the grammar is correct before posting the edits into articles.
I cannot change my sig apparently because my posting function was turned off. How I can amend this?
My President is Funny Valentine. Can somebody delete the sig for me, please?
And I want to ask if it is possible me to get a second chance. I understand what I have done and I feel sorry for this :(
My President is Funny Valentine.Still no word guys?
It all good, just try to keep it that way. Neh?Katsura, Mods can't access your sig so for the moment it has to stay. (Or I could bother Eddie about it but he's got more urgent things to attend to.)
Typically, we want bans to be negotiable - that's why we have this thread. So while I can't promise that we'll lift your ban, we're open to talking about it.
As for agreeing not to post in OTC, we actually have a tool that allows us to suspend you from there while giving you access to the other subfora. If we end up lifting your suspension this is probably what we'll do.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Yes, that'd be good solution. What about if I had cooldown period for at least two weeks? I wouldn't mind at all if it was long period.
My President is Funny Valentine.Duly-noted. On the subject of my case, is there a timetable the Mods have for answering questions people have on their bans?

It was an honorIt's impossible to post in this thread if you don't have an active suspension on your handle. The reason we made it so is that this thread used to be full of commentary from people who weren't Mods. We don't want that.
Don't talk about anyone's case but yours.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. If it is inflammatory according to our rules, then it is inflammatory. I want to remove it, but technical issues are preventing the action. I'll do it ASAP whenever I notice that the issue has ceased.
By the way, I apologize to Starship for any comments that could hurt your feelings. My behavior at OTC was very inappropiate.
Uhm, if I may ask, I want to ask when I may learn if my appeal here has been approved or rejected? I don't want to sound bothersome, but it would make my situation clear and less weigh on my mind.
What do you think of my humble suggestion of 2 week break or longer from tvtropes forum, in addition from suspending me from OTC, if my ban is lifted? That'd help cool me down for sure, just in case. If you deem that as too short, how about 1 or 2 months period?
My President is Funny Valentine.

You don't get any special treatment. Sick to death of you turning every discussion into your thoughts about Christianity. This is the second time. There won't be a third.
