This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules
apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't spam the thread about your appeal, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

- Whole-Plot Reference
- The episode "The Wonderful Wizard of Buzz Issue" was a homage to The Wizard of Oz
- One of the stories told during the Halloween Episode is called "Ghost Blasters", a reference to Ghostbusters (1984).
- The Bro Code
- Wilder talks about this when Michael dates Amanda in one episode, calling it one of the "guy rules", specifically the rule "pals before gals".
- In "The Mum's the Word Issue", there's also the "mothers before brothers" rule.
Hello. I've been suspended from editing for an unknown reason. The last thing that I did before getting suspended (I think) is adding more tropes to the fanfic "Loud Visions". For whatever reason, the system reverted my edit. I then asked the system what the restoration was for. The next day, I decided that now would be a good time to put my edit back. Sadly, I'm unable to do that because I'm suspended. What have I done, and what can I do to make sure that this doesn't happen again?
- Could I at least give hats and bombs
Ah, ok.
Actually, I was just trying to be cooperative. I know this is quite irregular, and if I mess up once again (especially during this year), I would be permanently bounced and basically not allowed to use TV Tropes again. I completely understand everything.

Synchronicity I would DELETE it. Just you know, this is more of something else

I just woke up earlier and realized that I have been suspended on the Project: Long Term forums for general rudeness, with the most important thing being overstepping my boundaries as a wiki curator. I apologize for this, as I was clouded in stress during that time, and my failure to rein in that is what led this situation. I promised myself to take a break from this situation so I that could better control myself, so hopefully that this an incident like this would never happen again, and I hope you will understand.
P.S. about the Cambodia thing. I noticed that it was on OBC's real life section before I made the post on the OBC cleanup thread. However, I did not suggest to add it. When they informed me that adding entire countries wasn't allowed, I swiftly deleted the example from OBC's Real Life section. I also apologize for not clarifying this as well.
Eh, good enough.Hi. I have been suspended since November 2023, likely for frequent poor grammars. I would like to edit again if that's okay. I have learned my lesson and I have been practicing on my writing lately.

Sideshow Jazz 19 was caught ban-evading and has been bounced.
I understand that forcing my views on the others was wrong and I won't do that anymore. I would like to edit again, if you allow me. I won't spread character hate anymore and would try my best to be more accepting of different interpretation.

Hi there, I would *really* like to edit again, please and thank you <3
I love this site and I love contributing to it :)
I understand that I was suspended for poor grammar, snowclones of tropes, no understanding of how to do a trope, possible plagiarism, and poorly Zero Context Examples. I really like this site especially the self demonstrated articles and I just wanted to help contribute this site for that I'm truly sorry and grateful for at least for helping the tv tropes website I wish to edit and help out this website.

What else do you need? I showed you I'm aware of the rules, I've read them and I got it and accepted the terms. Please, put an end to this.
Greetings. Sorry for disrespecting TV Tropes procedures. I was new at YKTTW, and I didn’t know I launched a trope without permission. I'd like to try again, and this time, I wanted to do better.
Visit my wiki: (hero.fandom.com)Apologies for the delay in responding - we're hoping to get back to most of you later today.
I understand I was suspended from editing. Is there any way I can do to release my suspension?
I was suspended for putting "Lone subbullets" on examples in the following pages:
If you lift the suspension, I promise I will be more careful of this in future editing and I'll edit out the subbullets on the pages listed.I got cancelled for saying that christians oppress people. Am i now kicked out forever, or will talking this out help?
In any case, i did in fact get more than three texts through the Get Help With English thread
long before this cancellation, but nobody ever acknowledged that.

~*bleh*~you know i did a good few contributions to a few pages. go to peterlo 209's Recent Edits and try to find a few edits that actually prove i can contribute good.
I'm replying to a few recent cases. This is not preempting any of our normal processes, just trying to expedite a little.
~jackbuck5438: We have already replied to you here
, and you have failed to acknowledge what we said. Spamming the contact form isn't going to help you, either. The only way you will get your suspension released is if you address the reasons for it in a satisfactory manner.
~Nukeli: Perhaps you can help us understand your thought process. Why do you think that "I'm really angry about something" preempts our global rules, that apply across the entire site, about dickishness? I feel like we've had this discussion over and over again, yet it fails to sink in.
We don't care if it's the local chapter of the Nazi Baby Eating Society or the Starving Puppy and Orphan Rescue Center that's upsetting you; you don't get to be disruptive in forum threads and yell back at moderators when told to stop.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~fredsworth (appeal)
: You have been suspended for an Edit War over alphabetization on Fanfic.Loud Visions.
First, we don't include articles ("a", "an", "the") when alphabetizing lists. That's grade-school English.
Second, if you find that your edit has been removed or reverted, you do not immediately add it back. You find out what the issue is and resolve it.
~Kingslayer38 (appeals: [1]
[2]
): Please do not post multiple times before being answered. You have correctly identified the problems with your contributions. However, you have not shown us how you will address them.
What steps will you take to improve your grammar? Both of your posts contain numerous mistakes. If you can't demonstrate to us that you can write properly, we cannot remove your suspension.
~Connacht89 (appeal)
: Sorry, it seems like we overlooked your initial post. You have been suspended for violating our policies on Example Indentation in Trope Lists and Conversation in the Main Page, also called natter. You have been sent multiple notifiers about these issues but have failed to improve. In order to release your suspension, we must know that you understand these rules and can make quality edits.
An example of such an edit is here
. Please explain what you did wrong and how to fix it.
~Alex Hoskins (appeal)
: You have correctly identified the issue. Rogue launching is one of the most persistent problems in Trope Launch Pad. It is incredibly rude. Will you read Trope Launch Pad Guidelines and comply with them in the future?
~Clock Clock Clock (appeal)
: You have also correctly identified the issue, but we can't just take your word for it. Please take the examples in question and repost them here with correct formatting.
~peterlo209 (appeal)
: Apologies. We missed your earlier post. You have repeatedly edit warred and ignored consensus on an example of Vindicated by History. While suspended, you attempted to use our cleanup thread for The Scrappy in a way that showed you had no respect for the thread's rules. Further, your English grammar as displayed in these forum posts is abysmal.
"I did good edits" is not a "Get Out of Jail Free" Card. If you can't respect consensus, you can't be allowed to use our site, and regardless you'll have to show that you can write properly.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~NummehCake (appeal)
: Greetings. Your edits display multiple problems, and you have apparently been sent notifiers about a number of them yet failed to improve.
- Misuse of tropes
- Adding examples to the main page that are already on the Characters subpage
- Adding false information
- Violations of Repair, Don't Respond
- Failure to cross-wick examples
- Violations of spoiler-tagging rules
I'm not going to write a wall of text explaining each of these, but we need to know that you'll do better. So let's start with this edit
, which shows a number of these issues. Taking those examples, please explain what's wrong with each and how to fix them.
~MM_Crusader (appeal)
: Correct, although I wonder why you waited three months to appeal. While you may have been "practicing on your writing", I can see flaws in that post that mean we can't allow you back. Besides the one I just noted, "frequent poor grammars" is also wrong. "Grammar" is always singular.
You can try using our Help with English
thread to get advice and demonstrate proficiency, but regardless of how you do it, you have to show us that you can write properly in English.
Of course. I’ll follow the rules for avoiding rogue landing and try to do better. I’d like to try again please.
Visit my wiki: (hero.fandom.com)Hello there. If I do believe, I got suspended for changing the photos of multiple voice actors and in some series without making an Image Pickin' thread (if there are any other reasons why, please let me know). I wasn't sure how dealing with uploaded images in the site works and I apologize for not looking into the "How to Pick a Good Image" page any sooner. I would like to edit again and I'll try my best to follow the TV Tropes instructions more carefully and discuss with other tropers via forums, discussions and/or PM's if there will be a need for major changes in a page (especially with changing and/or adding an image).
