I've been too busy playing Radiant Historia to completion. Also I have a backlog a mile long. Did get 'den instead of Pokeyman, since I'm holding out for the Inevitable Grey Version. Maybe I'll start later this week.
Also, the box implies it's Okami Den, but I always see it spelled as Okamiden (or Ōkamiden). Which is it? ...And is it pronounced Am-a-TER-as-u or Am-a-ter-AS-u?

It's Ōkamiden in Japan, although that's literally "Okami Chronicles", so by English rules that'd be two words. Japanese can be funny that way.
It's pronounced ah-mah-te-ras-soo.
Pokemon vs Okamiden? Okamiden wins hands down, no contest. I'd say that gameplay-wise, this game is every bit as good as the original game so far and better than any other action-adventure game on the DS (including Spirit Tracks). There are aspects of gameplay that aren't as good, such as removing the customization options from Spirit Points and making the explorable areas smaller, but there are aspects that are better to counterbalance that, such as the Partner system. The brush system was made for the DS. It's night and day how easy and intuitive it is on a touchscreen vs. the wiimote or analogue stick.
Story-wise, I'd say it's inferior so far, but it's far from bad. It's quite good, actually, it just had some rather large shoes (or rather, paws) to fill.
Aesthetically, it's not as pretty as Okami, but it is gorgeous for a DS game. Most of the music is re-used from the first title, but since that music was pretty good anyway, I don't really mind.
All in all, I consider this to be a solid investment and well worth buying new.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Oh, I wasn't saying that it was inferior to Pokemon or anything. Merely that being released so soon after a Pokemon title with little to no advertising (from what I've seen, anyway, which is to say nothing) certainly wouldn't help its sales.
If I'd actually known it was coming out so soon, I'd have saved up money to get it on release day. I've been looking forward to this game for months now. :C
If it weren't for Chuggaaconroy constantly reminding me that in his videos, I never would've known that game existed. I really think they need a better marketing team.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Started it. Aaaaand feel like a derf because I'm stuck in Hana Valley. Okay, I got the orb to the ritual room for the tree, I've found all the claywork items for the Nameless Man, and I obviously must defeat the boss but I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE HE IS. Help...?

Several times. Kuni just keeps asking what's up with the pile of garbage, and I've tried Rejuvenating, cutting, Blooming, and attacking the stuff to no avail.
Urgh, finally got past it. Genre Savviness can be dangerous when the designers want a specific order, I guess...

Just finished this morning. It was a little on the short side, and the story wasn't as good as the original, but it was a fun play. And I admit I bawled like a baby when Kurow dies, despite not even liking the character much.
Now I want another sequel. Go out and buy the game, so that Capcom will make one! ;)
EDIT: Come to think of it, a prequel could be cool, too, Downer Ending and all. Shirunai seems to have had some interesting adventures.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I am annoyed by the difficulty of using cherry bomb in this game. In Okami as long as it was something vaguely resembling a circle with a line through it you got a bomb. In this making a bomb is a Luck-Based Mission. >=(
Other than that, I'm lovin this game so far.
This is still a signature.Huh, I found Cherry Bombs easier to make in this game than the original game. Weird.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Yeah, me too on both counts. My strategy for all boss fights after getting it was to spam cherry bombs while they're stunned. Especially nice after you buy Cherry Bomb 2.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.No! No! They can't do that! It was EXPLICITLY STATED IN-STORY SEVERAL TIMES that Shiranui was Amaterasu's former incarnation! She even turns back into Shiranui at the end!! They CANNOT pull this shit!!!

^^^ Releasing it only a couple of weeks after a mainline Pokemon title probably wasn't the best idea.
I'd pick it up myself, but I've spent what little money I had on said Pokemon title. ;__;
