9/10 - Love the rapid guitar riffs mixed in with a slower one resulting in a swaggery combination, even if it does go on for quite a while.

Really good electronic composition with a big, epic sound. Honestly could've used a little more bass (and a sharper audio mix all around), but other than that, I liked it a lot. 8/10

86/100 - Dreamlike and ethereal, with the sort of sound you'd normally expect of some artificially slowed down pop single only it hasn't been. The wobbly guitar lines, slowly unfurling vocal lines, and how everything is mixed gives it a vibe as if it was partially recorded underwater. This plays into its dreary, bittersweet atmosphere structured as you expect pop to be but with a quiet sort of weight to its sorrows offset by how airy its melodies are.

Well-written, well-performed, but ultimately uninteresting to me. I think part of that is that I kept expecting it to build into something bigger but it never really did. I dunno what this is classified as, but I'm not into it. 4/10.

Look. Weird as it sounds, I really wanted to at least feel neutral on this. Vtubers are such low-hanging fruit at this point that taking cheap potshots at them just makes you look like a smug dick with no imagination. If I liked this, at least I wouldn't end up in the awkward position of having to criticise the song without stooping to that level.

And in the end... I'll give it this much, it at least isn't so bad I decided to throw out that courtesy. I don't get the impression this was meant to be taken seriously - it's very overtly goofy in style and delivery, though even interpreting the whole thing as a joke, it's not consistently funny, and at times it's just... I'm sorry, I kept promising I wouldn't punch this low, but the only way I can think to describe it is "painful weebery". "Murder is so kawaii"? Are you fckin serious?

Also the sudden brostep drop feels like a relic of the previous decade that should have remained buried.

5/10

7.8/10 Now the loud hype drops of the early 2010s don't feel quite as dated because they weren't as heavily used per se, and the mix of German and another language is definitely some kind of novelty I haven't really heard much before outside of Attack on Titan and Rammstein.

65/100 - There's a song by Simon and Garfunkel this reminds me of, The Boxer namely, though the lyrics are of course very different in what they focus on. It still feels just as rooted in understandably mundane but deeply personal human issues. It has a more climactic sense of climbing emotional drive to its songwriting, spelling some things out more openly, but I don't really find that to be an issue. It's a pretty song, just not something I personally care for that much.

Lately, something's been happening that I could never have predicted. I've been debating, for the first time in years, what my favourite album is. This is an unexpected development because, had you asked me at any point since I was about thirteen, I'd have said, without hesitation, Kid A.

Part of my devotion to this album is the sense that I owe it everything. My first experience of it was that watershed moment every oddball artistic type has in their youth, where the doors of your perception are blown off their hinges and a whole new universe awaits you on the other side of the empty frame. It transformed me from obnoxious "born in the wrong generation" rockist child to open-minded, awestruck explorer of every new sound I could find quick as anything. Even now, a clear sign of something I'm going to love with all my heart is that it gives me that same sense of wonder and discovery Kid A gave me as a youngin. Radiohead fumdamentally shaped me. So questioning whether it's merely one of my favourites, as opposed to the undisputed champion of them all, feels heretical as far as my inner child's concerned. (I have a very warped inner child.)

All that said, I have no doubt that I'm still going to love this album until the day I die. Its title track isn't the best cut on the album - it's not even in the top 5, which is the most backhanded way of expressing just how consistently high-quality Kid A is ever, really - but it does encapsulate a particular quality that always struck me as one of its greatest overall strengths, which is its sense of atmosphere. This track is all atmosphere, meticulously crafted and hyper-specific atmosphere at that. It feels at once wonderfully sweet and deeply uncomfortable, robotic, almost malicious - a nursery rhyme Skynet sings to newly-made Terminators as it trains them to kill us all. The way those synth pads swell triumphantly in the final minute makes me feel a strong emotion with no name. 9/10

36/100 - Proggy post grunge? That sounds almost like a really stupid joke but uh, yeah, that happened I guess. To its credit while I *guess* you could fit this under butt rock, ah oui yuo see veronica, c'est actually (hon hon hon) le highbrow bumbum rock music. It still goes through the sort of mellow verse big feelsy chorus motions you expect. Less obnoxious about it and the musicianship that goes into it a degree higher than the average Theory of a Deadman radio single stinker. That's nice I guess but it's really telling that this doesn't really elevate it past the constraints of a style that honestly should've died even before the Nickelmemes got tiresome.

70/100 - An interesting, anachronistic combination of dancy, artsy rhythmic sensibilities and this old timey English folk approach to melody and a lot of the note intervals. I feel if they wanted to they could turn this into an instrumental ambient-electronic-something track; there's a really good sense of layered backdrop to it.

65/100 - I get a bit of a disconnect in this song between its very sombre, articulate cleaner verses and the jolly, bouncy riffs it builds up to. Neither are bad but put together it's a jarring, awkward shift of atmosphere that doesn't really compliment the song as a whole.

[up] Me coming in like "come on, metal isn't everyone's cup of tea but is it really - OH. oh the song's sixteen and a half minutes long. Explains a lot."

[up][up] Honestly, I'm surprised you don't hear more metal with an overt psychedelic influence. Sure, the psychedelic movement's association will always be with flower power, but when the OG psych rockers got heavy, they got HEAVY heavy. Jimi Hendrix literally blowing out his amps comes to mind. So hearing this track open with a synth solo straight off a Pink Floyd song was a pleasant surprise.

Sure enough, this is unapologetically trippy music. At times you'd be forgiven for forgetting this is death metal at all and not something off of a lost late 60s band's sole, cult album. And you know what, even if they struggle to make the more traditionalist shrieking portions stand out the way the full-blown psychedelia does, it's cool on principle, far as I'm concerned. I'd be eager to see more metal bands try a style like this; it feels like it has potential to do really interesting things. 7/10

chill out, all of you. no one's any better or worse for liking any type of music, be it some 40 minute long metal symphony by some unknown scandinavian band or a 30 second soundcloud freestyle. leave your egos at the door, seriously. we either like or hate the song that someone posts, and that's fair enough in my book.

6/10 not bad, the vocals remind me a bit of Damon Albarn but with more blues/R&B inspired vibrato. Don't like the removal of downbeats in certain parts of the song though so I can't really groove to it.
