8/10 - Good song, but I was a little disappointed once I figured out it wasn't a punk cover of "We Built This City".

7/10. Nice, but I probably wouldn't buy it. (Apologies if I've posted this before...I have the feeling I might have)

6/10.

Sorry, I love Simon & Garfunkel... but the production of this makes it a difficult listen. There's a great song there, but unless it's presented in a way that's pleasant to listen to, I can't be doing with that..

Wait until you get past the hideously cheesy 80sness of the first version and then adore the chorus.

4/10. Got better once bass&drums entered, but still horribly, horribly... mild? Not enough salt for me.

Anyways, here's something different from the 80s.

I just have to say that I utterly LOVE those vocals. Not only do they provide a nice contrast, but I'd just like to marry the girl with such a voice. Adorable.

I like the Beach Boys but haven't heard that one before. Pretty interesting song, it's got a soft rock vibe overall, but then there's those weird vocal delays that seem straight out of an Animal Collective song. 8/10.

6/10. The music is good, but I feel like the lyrics and voice don't quite fit.

Oh GOD Mac Arthur Park. I haven't thought about that song in years. You know, it's funny, I kind of actually like the melody of the song, but the lyrics throw it well on to my all time groaners list. I'll give it a solid 6/10, for that direct dissonance.

You know, make that 5/10 because it never fucking ends.

Try this little number on for size. smile

6/10. It's musically a bit on the dull side, I think, nothing that would catch my ear if I heard it somewhere else. However, this bit in the lyrics is rather fantastic:

Life's not a bitch! Life is a beautiful woman! You only call her a bitch because she won't let you get that pussy.

6/10. I like the way Japanese flows when sung, though I don't always like how it actually sounds, and this is an example of that. I also like the instrumentation, though it eventually got kinda boring. Wasn't paying attention to the lyrics, so I have no idea if I like those.

6/10 - the bits between the actual verses were interesting enough, melodically speaking - the rest was OK.

Here's another guy who is melodically always interesting:
