A little taster of Noob Saibot

If you don't want his ending spoiled, stop watching after he beats Shao Kahn.

Hey, quick question. Are we still allowed to suggest maps, or are we only eliminating?

I want to cut a suggestion or three from the list before we vote so that we'll have less to choose from, but I'll listen to a suggestion, and I might add it to the list if:

  1. You back it up with one video and/or one picture link, so that everybody can become familiar with the map within a few minutes.
  2. I deem it as being spacious, not overly complicated, and generally something that would make a workable Arena.
  3. I don't hear or think of enough good reasons to not put it up.

As I said, we are not voting yet. This is just a list of suggestions that have been previously made. I still expect to eliminate some of these. I'll be reposting this here and there when it changes, or when we come to a new page.

A lot of these could use a better link, though. Try for images or videos that let you see the layout and appearance of the settings.

@Dynaslash: What was your suggestion?

This is the map. The red spots are spawn points but I don't think there's enough. The dark blue/light blue pool are lakes. the green part is a jungle. All craftsdwarfship is of low-intermidiate quality.

Eh, we already have a map for the freeform jungle.

What exactly is your suggestion? As in, what work is it from? Is it from Dwarf Fortress, or The Lord Of The Rings, or D&D, or what?

EDIT: Going to bed early tonight. Gonna leave the iPod alone for once, so I can actually get some shuteye. G'night.

It's not from any paticular work, just thought we could use more water. I don't think these things through, so if you want, just trash it. Just added that quip about craftsdwarves because dwarves kidnapped me.

The jungle map is actually pretty much a prototype anyway; I'll edit in a pond or lake or something when I get on my computer. Thought it was missing something.

Okay, let's get to chopping stuff; either that or finding vids n' pics so we know what we're fighting in.

  • Plumbum (and anyone else interested): We are still lacking in the Presidium Scenery Porn department. Get on it.
  • Stevebat: Acre video gives us a lovely view, but how's for a vid of what the street level looks like?
  • General populace: Thinking of dropping Mt. Erebus. Opinions of both TARDISES and non-TARDISES entities, por favor.

Gonna re-post Bobomb Battlefield.

Yeah, turns out it doesn't contain any words starting with m-e-r-d.

I also though coulez meant 'f*ck', but apparently it actually means 'sink.'

... Technically there IS no mountain, lol. Mt. Erebus is actually very flat (like many maps in Doom - it wasn't until Doom 2 that there started being some serious height involved)

Hell, man, at least look at the keys while you're typing. And maybe the screen before you hit Send.

There is no grammar checker, just a spellcheck. Although, it doesn't recognise the word 'spellcheck'.

Opinions on Mt. Erebus. Why should we drop it, and why shouldn't we drop it?

Citadel's on the block, too, just so you know. Except that I have found a video that takes you on a pretty thorough, if trippy, tour of it... I don't know if that's the same level Plumbum had in mind, and I haven't the foggiest idea how the player started noclipping, but it would seem that, in whichever game this is, anyway, the dev team did not intend for the player to actually see all that much of the area.

So, that's two maps on the chopping block so far. Mt. Erebus, because it's made with one player and a whole lot of AI's in mind, and the Citadel, because half of the arena would be, by necessity, either unplayable or freeform.

EDIT: Will look for an A's C vid ASAP. Leaving for class.

Say, is there any idea of when this will start again? I wanted to know if I have to wait until school ends. (Which I hope I do so that homework and such will not get in the way)
