Huh. I didn't know that Lost Winds was release in Japan by Squeenix! However, apparently Marvelous is bringing a bunch of Wii Ware games to Japan... because.
Having beaten God of War 2 on Normal (Spartan), I found myself temeritous enough to try Extra Hard (Titan) Mode.
I gotta say, they've really picked up the ball, haven't they? The Colossus of Rhodes can actually kill me in one or two hits now. Exciting!
The combat in these games doesn't usually kill me; that belongs to "dicking around while solving the puzzles."
Ahahahaha. I've been trying to figure out who was voicing the whipstache'd villain in White Knight Chronicles. I just realized... it's the guy who did Master Shake. That make him all the more narmy and I LOVE it.

What manner of pokeymans be these?
Huh. Persona games just kill time. I could have sworn it was 4:30, like, thirty minutes ago.
Well judging by your post time, it was only 3 minutes before you said that. :P
They're making De Blob into a kid's cartoon.
Persona 4: It eats time.

So, my sister is interested in a story-driven game, but she's very new to videogames... also twelve, any recommendations for a newbie-friendly RPG or something of the sort?
Maybe... but right now I want something that keeps her away from my Computer, so I'll have to restrict the request to PS / PS 2 games.
If she likes platformers, the Jak And Daxter series.
Jak and Daxter borders on Nintendo Hard sometimes.
I grew up with Spyro The Dragon, it's a good game for that age range, partly because it's not patronisingly childish. Same goes for Ratchetand Clank. Insomniac's stuff in general.
Also, Beyond Good And Evil is another good one.
(Kingdom Hearts 1 was my favourite RPG on the PS 2... I suppose I could recommend that. Just you have to start at KHI, because skipping straight to KHII will make you hate it)
Re: Spyro: If you go for one of the older ones, they're not as story driven as the newer ones, but they still have some story. All three of the new ones are available on PS 2... But the story goes through them all, and the last one is the one I'd consider "the best." The first one is really, really repetative, but I haven't played enough of the second one's console versions to know if it's enjoyable enough or not.
If you do spring for one of the older ones, get A Hero's Tale. That's the better of the two console-version ones from the last gen.
RPG? PlayStation or PS2? Friendly to beginners? I was going to say Orpheus: Scion of Sorcery, but that's not actually an RPG. Uhh, hold on.
Okami is Zelda-like, but fun. In terms of action RPG, both Kingdom Hearts games are forgiving, and Odin Sphere is easy to get into.
I just found out that my little brother played my file of New Super Mario Brothers Wii and in the process lost around 70 lives, and used up all my items except a few mushrooms, mini-mushrooms & stars. I do not know whether or not he lost so many lives as to use up a continue.
CastleVania: Symphony Of The Night is the easiest Metroidvania doing the rounds, but while I wouldn't call it violent, it might not be something you're comfortable having a twelve year old play.
And of course, Final Fantasy VII is a pretty good introduction to JRP Gs in general.
Or Chrono Trigger...
True, but I heard the Playstation port sucks.
Also; Ico, or if you think that's too short, Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.
Come to think of it, the whole trilogy is pretty good, but Warrior Within gets a touch violent at times.

That's because they chose to emulate the SNES game during runtime instead of simply porting it.
...why would you emulate an SNES game on a PS 1?
Because the PS 1 ports of CT, FFIV, FFV, and FFVI were somewhat half-assed (and in the case of CT and FFVI, even more so?)
Emulate a SNES game... on a PS1? Why would someone do such an idiotic thing?
Because Squaresoft wanted to cash in on the PS 1 selling craze, and because they wanted to bring their titles up-to-date.
Instead of reworking the titles for a PS 1, though, they stored the SNES game, an SNES emulator than ran on a PS 1, and the additional material. Boy, now that wouldn't cause Loads and Loads of Loading, right?
... And the PS 1 FFV script sucked, And That's Terrible.
