The newest trailer for the Minecraft movie dropped.
It looks like the movie is solely aimed at kids. One person said her 11-year-old daughter fangirled out after seeing the previous trailer, so all us adults complaining about this movie... we don't matter. Any more than our parents mattered when we watched the stuff that we liked as kids.
Remember Acclaim? Well they’re back.
Jeff Jarrett being involved is something I was NOT expecting to read.
Get taxed. Idiot. It makes me think of how Atari is "back." None of the original people are there, and it's not even headquartered in the same country. It's desperately trying to stay afloat by selling retro plug-and-play consoles with old games in them, and sometimes bringing back old franchises, all developed by external developers of course (like Yars Rising by a US company, and Haunted House by a Brazilian company).
"Acclaim" is probably gonna try to coast by on the name and try to bring back franchises that are nostalgic to a very specific audience (assuming they even can), and giving us almost nothing of note.
Or who knows, they might become like Activision and publish original games made by actually talented companies while using a retro name to appeal to nostalgia.

Okay, I need input on the best possible trope turn regarding a spoiler in Bravely Second which also spoilers the first game's ending. Posting here as this thread is more active:
Tiz's coma (comalike state) resulted in him missing a lot of time between the two games, as well as barely having time to enjoy the downtime until Providence's defeat. Not to mention caused no end of worry from his friend and made their recent victory feel hollow until he is saved.
Yet if Tiz had not ended up in his condition, he might have remained on Caldisla when Yoko teleported the country away leaving Yew and company shorthanded.
Closest is Accidental Good Outcome. Just wasn't sure if it can count for events that are directly cause by one's actions.
I don't see anything on the trope page that would indicate that it doesn't apply to an outcome of one's own actions.
Indeed, at least one of the listed sub-tropes—Serendipitous Survival—is indicated to be about a mistake causing something positive (survival) for oneself.
(In fact, your example is similar to Serendipitous Survival, in that it's about being away and thus avoiding something resulting in something advantageous—save that the advantage is being on hand to help, not surviving.)

Wow. This looks amazingly hilarious.
I wondered where it was made, and I went to their website. While all the socials on their site link to Wix, a website development company, and the links up to lead to nowhere, they do have a phone number. The country code on the phone number is the country code of India.
That looks like a beautiful catastrophe. Between the yacht and the terrible dialogue at the beginning, I half expected a poisonous cat to show up.

Game Informer put out a video teasing something. It shows a monitor on the page with the infamous closure announcement, before glitching and showing a line about continuing, along with a date, March 25. You may be legitimately worried that Gamestop is reanimating its corpse, but a couple of former staff at GI, like Brian Shea
, Matt Miller
, and Kyle Hilliard
, have posted continue-themed teasers as well.
If they managed to take GI back, good on them :o
Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing will be coming to Steam sometime in the second quarter of this year (April -June).
Not joking
.
I actually hope people will mod the game to make it actually worth it.
