...And another Sonic Unleashed boss bites the dust! Egg Devil Ray down; next up for tomorrow: Cool Edge Night.

More Unleashed progress! Here's a quick recap:
Before going on to the next level, I went and did a few other missions. First there was a "don't get hit" mission in Spagonia— pretty simple, but missiles are stupid. I liked the "don't get hit" mission in Chun-Nan; the new area looked pretty cool. There was also a Werehog "don't break anything" level in Spagonia... WHAT THE FUCK. A ridiculous time limit. I didn't like it. Moving on...
Holoska Night? Average level, frustrating at times but not too bad. "Temple of Ice" (the 3rd act) reminded me of a Zelda dungeon for some reason.
The boss fight against Dark Moray was an easy S Rank, although I did get iced a few times.
Shamar Day... suprisingly fun. o_o I'd have to say it's my favorite level thus far.
And as for Adabat Night? FUCK ADABAT NIGHT

Strangely, I thought the same when I played through. Specifically, thoughts of Ice Palace and Snowhead Temple were brought to mind.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Alright, went a little further—
Shamar Night: tricky, but nowhere near as bad as Jungle Joyride.
The Dark Guardian fight was pathetic. I took him out in under 2 minutes.
After that, I went and refought the Dark Gaia Phoenix, who kicked my ass the first time around. It occured to me that the Werehog Boss Rank Inflation is bullshit: it's graded solely on time, and a millisecond over the limit? Boom! Instant C Rank. Pulled it off in the end, though.
Next up, Adabat Day. It's an okay level. By some miracle, I managed to A-Rank it.
Another boss fight, this time against the Egg Lancer. Pretty simple to get an S Rank, but it did manage to kill me once or twice.
I decided to wind down by improving my ranks on Rooftop Run Day and Cool Edge Day— I now have an A Rank in every Sonic level. * No S Ranks yet, though. Now my brother's working on his file— improving some of his ranks before taking on Adabat and Shamar's night levels. Have fun with that.

Ever consider livebloggening, Blue?
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaMeh. I actually considered an Unleashed liveblog, but eventually decided against it. Mainly because my summaries (see above) are usually pretty concise. Perhaps if we end up keeping the game (we're only renting for now), I can start a new file later.
But now that you mention it, that does give me a neat idea... I'd need someone to help, though.

I can provide some assistance, especially since my original liveblog of the 360 version was "archived".
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Excellent. Just PM me when you wish to start.
In other news, I made it to the final area in Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. As a whole, this game was surprisingly good, as far as post-PS 1 Spyro games go. * The final boss, Cynder, is giving me a bit of a hard time, though.

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.-sigh- I just beat the game and I'm watching the credits now. I feel like RAGING now. Let's begin.
Eggmanland Day. Ugh. Kind of epic, but flat-out ridiculous in terms of difficulty. I did manage to beat the Time Attack mission with literally less than a second left, so that was kinda cool.
Eggmanland Night. Kind of enjoyable, I guess. Lots of fighting though, and some tricky platforming. I took a little bit of time on the first level, but then? S-Ranked four acts straight.
Egg Dragoon. Awesome boss fight with awesome music. But it goes downhill from there...
Dark Gaia can go and fuck off. This boss frustrated me to no end. Every single phase. A rundown: Phase 1: I can't play Punch Out for shit. Phase 2: Cheap. Just... cheap. Perfect Dark Gaia: MY GOD. I kept running out of rings, it took me so long to figure out how to lock on to each eye, and when I finally did, I kept getting hit by meteors near the end. And you know what the best part is? I was 7 seconds off of an S Rank, so it's an instant C Rank. I'll have to come back! Okay, I think I'm done venting. I'm pretty sure the entire Eggmanland farce lasted for over 2 hours.
And by the time I finished typing most of that, the credits finished. I took on one little Spagonia mission I unlocked. Pretty fun. That's enough Unleashed for one day, thank you very much.
I hope you enjoyed my proto-liveblogging here. Hopefully, I'll be able to do an actual one eventually, with Komodin (and anyone else I recruit into it) in tow.

Looking at Steam's home page image for Beat Hazard has me curious. It says that it runs on music the player provides. So with that said listen to the following two music playlists compiled on Youtube:
- Air Rage Sirens
(Not yet complete, I need to go searching through the YT archives for music from Ace Combat, especially AC05)
- The Sounds of War
(Pretty much complete)
-sigh- One last note about Unleashed— once you beat the final boss, the game admittedly grinds to a halt somewhat. It becomes a cycle of: Go to a Gaia Gate, hope there's a puzzle room open. If there isn't, go and improve some ranks and collect more medals. If it is, go in, solve the puzzle and unlock more levels. Go beat the levels, get more medals. Rinse and repeat.
When you do unlock levels, they're usually pretty fun, so I don't really mind. (I unlocked an extended Rooftop Run Day level, which replaces the Aero Chaser at the end with a neat new area. Awesome level.) Plus, it gives me a chance to improve on some of the stages that I didn't do too well on. (P.S.: My brother hates me right now— I just S-Ranked Eggmanland.)
Overall, I'd say this game is a definite keeper. Since it's been out for a while, we can buy it for cheap when my bro goes and gets the game he was actually looking for (but didn't find the first time): Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing.

rallyfan9000: I haven't played it but apparently the louder the music is the easier the game is because the volume determines your firepower.
the future we had hoped forI vow that I will beat the Bonus Boss in Fossil Fighters sooner than later.
I'm currently experimenting with a team of Frigisaur on point, Guhlith for Whirling Displacement, and Hoplo as my buff-monkey/FP-pluser. I have gotten so close, to the point of having just a sliver of health left on Dynal. But the Random Number God keeps screwing me over.
I'm also toying with switching to Guhvorn and Guan as my supporter. Maybe with that pimped-out attack, I won't need FP Plus or Frigi's ability to attack all. Also, higher HP.
EDIT: THEY HAVE BEEN SLAIN. DYNAL IS MINE.
Guan + Guhvorn was a good idea. Who's a good little T-Rex ancestor coupled with an Eldritch Abomination? You are! Yes you aaare!

"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaLast night, I finished Final Fight as Guy in Final Fight: Double Impact. Somehow, I still got the "Coin Gobbler" achievement for beating the game with 18 continues or less even though I actually used 19. I'll have to check my score on the leaderboards to confirm this, though.
"It ain't about whether you win or lose, unless you got money on the game, because...damn. That's your money, son."Age Of Empires II is actually awesome.
INT is knowing a tomato is a fruit. WIS is knowing it doesn't belong in a fruit salad. CHA is convincing people that it does. Also, I have only one viviosaur left to unlock in Fossil Fighters. Stupid Perso's head keeps hiding from me! I have all its other parts! It's the only thing that stands between me and all the other cool Dinaurian medals, since I found a T-Rex head and an Allo head last night.
Of course, I'm still missing the Wind Elemental Chicken, so there's still grinding in my future...

I guess it's more like you aren't supposed to objectify Bayonetta, she's supposed to objectify everyone else.

I don't know why, but it always makes me a little upset when I play a platformer or action-adventure game with no hub. I like exploring them. Especially action-adventure! I like my overworlds!
