I'm just relieved that the season ended with the apparent destruction of the Eliacube. That thing is honestly way more trouble than it's worth. I was also getting tired of how every major Big Bad relied on it for their schemes. Nox used it to power his clockwork army and time travel shenanigans. Qilby used it to make himself a credible threat in battle. Everything Oropo did relied on it.
As for the Big Bad, I thought it was interesting that, for all his grand schemes, all he really wanted deep down was to be Yugo. He was a reflection who wanted to be a real boy. That's something the Wakfu villains have in common. All of them had rather sympathetic desires. Nox wanted his family back. Qilby wanted friends. Oropo wanted to be his own man. It's the way they went about trying to achieve their desires that made them villains.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI don't really remember Qilby wanting friends being his motive. You might have to brush me up on that one.
I remembered his motive being something more like "I'm so brilliant, and I know what's best for everyone, but nobody understands me!". With the genocide part just being an apparent Eliatrope tradition when they migrate to different planets from what I remember him explaining.
If Qilby's still considered a major spoiler I'll edit and spoiler that, but it's been a long time.

Yugo called him out on it in the last episode of season 2. The reason Qilby enacted such a complex scheme even though he could have defeated all of them at any time was because deep down he didn't actually want to kill the Dragons or other Eliatropes. He wanted them all to agree with him and join him so that he wouldn't be alone.

I bit the bullet and started watching Season 3. I've finished episode 7, and so far it's a definite improvement over the OV As. Ruel, Amalia and Evangelyne get to contribute to the plot. The villains are better- Ush is more than a glorified cameo, Coqueline is adorable, and Black Bump is so stupid he kinda circles around to genius (And am I imagining things, or does he have a little Iron Man in him?). I like the change from clockpunk to a slightly more sci-fi theme, and the music sounds a little bit like Samurai Jack. Aaaand that's as far as I've gotten.
What's the rule for spoilers in this thread?
woah, I haven't heard the word 'Japanimation' in years.
But I digress.
Sometimes those types of actors sort of overlap and the ones who normally appear in Western works do on occasional Japanese thing [Tara Strong working on Spirited Away, Paz in Metal Gear Solid, Presea in Tales of Symphonia, etc.] and vice versa.
Thread Hop. So I've been avoiding this thread since season 3, since I'm waiting for it to air on Netflix. But since it's finally coming out tomorrow, I decided to rewatch some episodes in preparation, specifically the season 2 finale, and now I'm wondering what happened to Eva's shoulder injury after she got shot by Remmington. Was that ever explained?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThere is a five-years break between the end of season 2 and the beginning of the OAV, so I assume the injury just healed.
They're kinda important enough to have access to the best Eniripsas in the world.
Edit: rewatching that finale made me realize this was one of Marc Alfos' last roles before his death - he was Rushu. He was one of the most famous and recognizable French VA, having voiced Grunt, Zeus or Mario Auditore and dubbed all of Ron Perlman's and Russel Crowe's greatest roles, along with Ray Stevenson's Titus Pullo. This summer in particular comes the sequel to what might be his most famous dub to date - he was Robert Parr.

I figured that healing is available (this is a videogame universe afterall), but I assumed there was a Conservation of Detail. Why even show it in the first place, if it would just get healed offscreen and never come up again?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI think the point was more to address Remington and Grany's fates (so that they don't entirely leave the narrative) than to have any lasting consequence for Eva.
Plus the point is that it's a big scare for Eva & Sadlygrove, which helps explain how a hothead like Grovy can actually settle down for a family life.
It turns out that season 3 isn't hitting Netflix until April 6. Oh well.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThey were still building their pantheon. They didn't really have a willing Xelor one, for a start - Harebourg was frozen in a block of ice.
Also, the Goddess Cra not having kids everywhere fits the lore where she is the most serious and responsible one. Evangelyne is very close to the "archetypal Cra" - so yeah, maybe we will learn she (and her sister) are demigoddesses after all, or are part divine.
Those we saw were Poo (Pandawa), Toxine (Sram), Bump (Feca), Coqueline (Osamodas), Ush (Ecaflip), Dathura (Sadida), Echo (Eniripsa), Harpagone (Enutrof), Harebourg sorta (Xelor), Flopin (Cra) and Elely (Iop). The only missing one as far as I know was the Sacrier demigod(dess).

I've seen some discussion from people on the game's lore threads blame Tot for a lot of the weird plot decisions. He has some sort of weird, artistic vision he wants to force into the plot apparently.
The funny thing about the Eliatropes / Eliotropes effect on the plot is they should really have always been portrayed as the villains, with the gods rising up against them with how often they dick around with science magic they can't control and cause mass genocide in the Krosmoz. If you read betwen the lines they're really just dickish, mad scientist, space elves,(even the Islands of Wakfu game hints at Yugo's past life being kind of a self rightous jerk) but the writers treat them as these mysterious benevolent aliens, that tragicallly went extinct.
This season also did do a lot of torturing Yugo by forcing him to relive his past with Nox, but it never did much to confront him with how he's Not So Different from Nox given how they both tried to abuse the macguffins. Or at least he didn't really seem to grow and learn that lesson.
