SMN's DoTs were never integral to their playstyle like they are for BRD. Feels weird that they're removing them completely though — guess BLM is the only caster that gets a DoT.

They clarified that Carbuncle will be the only SMN pet. The egi will be just glams.

Holy 2 is nice sounding.

I kind of hope the animation is a little more subdued though.

My main wish is WHM doesn't lose Divine Benison. I always feel so accomplished when I use it right before a tankbuster.

Benison is becoming a "charge action", which I think means we'll get to stack two charges of it.

It's been fun.

You can always get the same high by playing DRK and dropping TBN on yourself (or a teammate) with good timing. TBN is amazing.

I feel sorry for how long they're having to explain and justify having a Money Sink, people on the reddit are already pitching a fit even though this is a complete non-issue change unless you're outright trying to run around on no money.

So how are we all feeling on Reaper gameplay?

So far SMN and Sage are the big highlight. SCH and BRD are the big losers.

Reaper seems ok, nothing super interesting.

Guess I lucked out picking SMN for my raiding class this SHB and Endwalker.

But I like how Reaper seems to play, I might make it my other raiding class.

Is BRD losing anything? Haven't been able to see the changes outside of stuff in the Job Trailer. The extra song time seems like a pretty big buff on its own.

It makes me SOOOO mad about the disaster that is SCH... like 2 years ago they said the reason why we weren't getting a new healing class with Dancer was because they wanted to better work on the healing classes themselves.

None of that was done aside from giving SCH BACK Energy Drain, which they had ripped out of the class along with Bane.

And here we are again... new healing class this time that basically replaces SCH and every healer still has the same DPS toolkit.

Hell they still have them with the most boring visuals in the game too. Like Art of War is a literal just stomp on the ground followed by a purple circle.... wow. While you got Lasers, Galaxies and Holy magic to compete with.

Tax hike on Teleportation. It now costs double the amount to go to and from the East.

Basically to help with the economy swelling out of control, they're changing how aetheryte fees work, they now become more expensive the greater the distance in-lore and can be over 999, the example that was given was going from Costa Del Sol to Kugane would be around 1400 gil max as the seemingly-most-expensive, but it also makes travel to the First a lot cheaper since we're not really covering distance, but space.

They had to spend almost 30 minute explaining this simple change and their reasoning behind it because they knew people were gonna be pissed even though it's so nothing of a change.

So I wonder how the game is going to explain the SMN changes in-universes if we don't get the primals during Endwalker?

Like Primal EGI is a big part of SMN lore and the class takes them into cutscenes, and they seem to be reduced to skins for Carbuncle.

The amount of spells that have been pruned... the questline has to be rewritten to include the new summons instead.

Like SMN no longer even has their dots. Like its absurd on how few skills SMN has now, its all transforming spells akin to Phoenix.

I estimate that the Summoner changes will be live for, maybe, ten minutes before all the TRUE SUMMONERS go back to screaming to the high heavens about how "IT'S NOT A REAL SUMMONER!!!"

As for Scholar and Dark Knight, well, I expected nothing and still I'm disappointed.

More worried about those new players trying to trek their way through Stormblood, especially patch content. Like that's where the price difference is going to be extreme. Numerious quests have you going back and forth as it is and at 2k each...

Didn't see it, but since you literally cant summon the egis at ALL. Things really need to change.

Fluid Aura has been a useless appendix for years now. At least when it was a knockback it actually served as an interrupt.
