I think being the Trope Namer might gain Elliot Reed a little bit of slack if the trope description highlighted the Scrubs example.
Even then, I think we could do better. I'm picturing various scenarios in my head that would produce good "three-shot" images, though I'm having trouble recalling specific works. Such as:
- Boyfriend and girlfriend at a drive-in movie. They get to the verge of kissing/making out, but then Kid Brother/Sister (possibly a "stowaway") pops up from the back seat.
- Similar scenario on a couch, where kid (or possibly dog) pops up and cluelessly takes a seat between the would-be lovers.
Not even the Trope Namer? I agree with the general principle, but sometimes it seems downright perverse to have a trope with an unusual name, but the reason for the name is buried down in the example list.
Jet-a-Reeno!She is hardly much of a trope namer, I seriously doubt that Scrubs invented the term "Moment Killer".
Fight smart, not fair. This is the second time Moment Killer has been taken to IP for a new image, because I was the person who reported it last time. Who keeps putting it back up?
If the text wasn't so damned small, this
◊ could work. "Are we about to make out in Avengers Headquarters?" / "What the hell are you idiots doing!?"

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.How about this?
◊ It'll require some resizing and cropping, but yeah.
Alternatively this
◊, possibly paired with this
◊ as a sort of "Before and After".
The term "Moment Killer" was a pre-existing thing? I'd never heard it until I read this thread....
Jet-a-Reeno!^ ^ Hmm... nope. First one doesn't have enough context (and the Japanese subs don't help any). The other two, even paired, don't have the right feel to them.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.The "Avengers HQ" image definitely has the right idea, at least. The gist of what we're looking for, even if that particular image doesn't quite work.
Jet-a-Reeno!
I don't think the first three work all that well, but the second (as a duo) isn't too bad.
I don't think I've heard of it as a character before, but I can definitely say I've heard it before.
Fight smart, not fair. What about a resized version of the last panel of this comic
?

Having never seen Scrubs, I have no idea why the character is illustrative of the trope.
