All the problems already mentioned are worsened 1000% by the fact that all Tats's "attractive" women look exactly the same.

I think this comic is indeed meant to be a shocking reveal that (gasp!) ZOMBIE PROSTITUTE IS GHOST GIRL ALL ALONG, but all the prostitutes look so similar that I can't confirm that.

How ridiculous is it that we need to count how many eye piercings the prostitutes have to tell them apart?

Combine the sameface problems with Tats ridiculous refusal to name his characters and you get a story written so poorly that the audience can't even tell who the characters are.

In a 100% VISUAL MEDIUM drawn by a man who has been drawing comics as a professional for most of his life we can't identify the main characters on sight.

This is Sonichu levels of fail. How does Tats keep screwing things up at the most basic levels of telling a story?

There's truth there to a lot of streetwalker's personal situations. Drugs to make you cope with your dreadful job (and to help control you if your pimp is your supplier), paint to make you look marketable and surrendering your self agency to someone who controls and profits from you

So, yes, I'm actually defending Tats (please send help!) on this one strip. It's the previous strips that make this micro-arc so pathetic in total

Being Tats, which is a terible fate for anyone, he does have strong klaxons going off in the background about penis being bad for women, and muffins being good for them.

(Personally I can recommend the Raspberry Cheescake Muffin from Starbucks)

He'd write a lot better about these issues in general if he didn't let his outdated rad fem agenda twist the narrative (Or if he treated his characters as actual people with backgrounds, histories and names)

Tat's plots in general are starting to remind me of Ankh-Morpork and Terry Pratchett. A brilliant and truly great writer, but it always looked to me that almost every story set in Ankh-Morpork seemed to involve a plot to overthrow the Patrician somehow

Tats now gives me the same sense of repetitiveness with none of Pratchett's brilliance when it comes to "his" plots. Tats is a dull "shiny" stone instead of the diamond he used to be

I think no one is contesting that the life of a person forced into prostitution is terrible and that this should never happen to anyone.

Where I do have a problem is that Tats pretends that all sex work, ranging from porn to prostitution, is ALWAYS, under ANY circumstance abusive. Voluntary or not. All men are disgusting undead rapists and misogynists, all women are innocent victims of the Patriarchy. There is no alternative to this and anyone who pretends there is, is also an undead ugly stinky poopiehead.

Add to that the completely anvilicious and poor presentation of these beliefs and you have the fascinating train wreck that is Sinfest today!

This allegory works, but — as you say — only for this one comic page. The problem is that we met her previously as Dissociating Ghost Handmaid, and even in her ghost form she looked like a normal human woman (although damned near identical to just about all of Tats' other human women).

Tats never explained how it came to pass that she looked like a zombie in the first place.

And is Tats now telling us that zombies are sympathetic characters?

And what happened to October and Halloween? And to Li'l Evil and Satan and Hekate? And did Nana do anything in response to Hekate's message? And has anyone seen Leon lately? Or Ms. Liberty? Where is Medic? And ...

There are many MANY things that piss me off about the comic lately, but what's bugging me the most is this idea that anyone who a) works in the sex industry or b) accepts that trans people have a right to exist (and possibly c) is a female who's happy in a heterosexual relationship with a man) has been brainwashed into a zombie and has to take drugs to appear normal. Tats thinks he's created a clever metaphor for the "real" world, but what he's actually done is remove any reason to actually LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO DON'T AGREE WITH HIM. Sex workers want a way to be protected rather than persecuted by the law? Brainwashed. Are actually trans, or who want to protect friends and/or family who are trans? Brainwashed. Don't think that heterosexual males are automatically sex-crazed rapists? Brainwashed. It's like arguing with conspiracy theorists; there's literally no real-world evidence you can provide that can't be countered with "that's just what they WANT you to think".

It was brought up a bit ago about Tats' utter failure as a writer for a comic, and to this day nothing will ever top the best example of his utter and complete ineptitude with writing for a visual medium.

When he decided he wanted musical accompaniment, but rather than embed a midi or mp3 file, or even just post a youtube link under the comic that would link to the song he was using, he drew in musical notes.

I'm gonna say this again, because good GOD in heaven does it bear repeating, he drew in the notes.

Now, some of you might be wondering what the problem is. Well, allow me to ask you this, can you read notes? I know there was one person on the forums here who could, but the rest of us were left out in the cold wondering just what the hell the songs were supposed to be. The punchline to at least two of Tats' comics flew right over the heads of anyone who couldn't read notes, which would probably encompass most of his readers.

You can point to his messages, you can point to his same faces, you can point to his reasonable villains and sociopathic "sheroes", but nothing will ever beat Tats' utter incompetence as a comic creator quite like those comics as far as I'm concerned.

"Strawman mode engaged! Judge our actions by this comic alone without thinking about what we're actually going to do!"

At least be honest when you're taking narrative shortcuts, Tats!

I've written several rants about this subject when the comics first appeared as well.

I might have translated some of the music used for others to see back then, but it wasn't clear or easy to see what music Tats was doing. I remember he wanted to use the James Bond theme once for Vainglorious, but he did not use the most recognizable part and wrote some notes from the middle somewhere.

It's such a stupid thing to do. The jokes didn't work on any level for the medium they were written for.
