Satan is just twisting the knife, allowing Amber to realize that she was the cause of her own downfall. Which, y'know, she was. The amber-colored hair is a nice touch.

But I don't think Satan would bother to scare her, unless he intends to use her fear to get something that he wants.

In many words? Don't wish misfortune upon innocent women because Xanthe is... Xanthe.

And no, it's not necessarily her mother's fault she turned out the way she is. Maybe she was a shit parent, or maybe something's wrong with Xanthe medically, and no amount of good parenting would have changed the end result. Maybe she didn't even get the chance to be part of Xanthe's life because her husband divorced her and won primary custody.

Unless you know something about Xanthe's mother that I don't; in which case, my apologies.

Naaah, she's just an actress. But I do marvel at the advertising budget that both the Patriarchy and especially the Sisterhood must have to be able to afford to shoot all these propaganda videos.

So far, the only mention of Xanthe's mother was the strip in which Xanthe and Nana were looking at a family photograph album. I got the strong impression that Xanthe hadn't known her mother (or hadn't known her very long or very well), and that she probably was dead.

Speculation: If Xanthe's mother is dead, her death may be tied in to the reason that Xanthe hates men. (I wish Tats would bother to give his characters backstories! Or even names ...)

It's really funny how the Devil provides context just before starting a performance review. This is the kind of behaviour I'd expect of him.

I also can't really look past the reasonableness of this video. The woman in the video is clearly screwing around and slacking off from work. Getting fired for it is a fitting consequence for her own behaviour.

It only gets iffy at the part where she's unable to find another job and has to resort to begging and perhaps prostitution. It would be very unlikely that she would be unable to find another job anywhere else, but it isn't 100% impossible either. It ties in with the strangeness of working women in Sinfest.

What I think is strange is that in Sinfest women don't seem to be working low skill, low paid jobs or do manual labour. There are fast food restaurants, there are servers, there are factories and there probably are cleaners, supermarkets and garbage collectors. The closest thing I've seen to a woman in a blue collar job was the black woman working the assembly line with Slick. (who as a first line screams "SEXUAL HARASSMENT" which is Tats unintentionally parodying himself again )

So woman clearly aren't forbidden from doing work like that, but why do they only seem to work at high level positions or as sex workers?

What if Xanthe and her mom had a Generation Xerox thing going on?

Nothing wrong with them, per se, except that we've never seen them. Unlike her grandmother, they seem to be missing from her life.

There's a story there, and in fifteen or twenty years Tats might get around to telling it. Given the sexual politics of Sinfest — and what little evidence we have — I'd be willing to bet that her mother is dead and her father is somehow responsible.

It's nice to see that the Devil doesn't take being messed with. She ignored a direct order to shut down Sisterhood propaganda, punishment is in order.

OHH! Let's get Monokuma in on this! In fact this should be the Minimum Punishment if the Devil gets his hands on a member of the Sisterhood!

I think he's setting her up for an offer she can't refuse:

UPDATE (cross-posted to the Discord board): I've speculated that we might not see Criminy again. Scratch that theory, I have a new one. Satan may be leading up to coercing Amber into undertaking a difficult assignment: seducing and corrupting Criminy. Why would I suspect this? Because of Blue's inquiry into Amber's background, back in 2012. And Blue likes the idea of Amber seducing Crim because that would drive a wedge between Crim and Fuchsia.

I can't even get grumpy. At this point Devilcorp's security is so crap, they could see marked improvements by putting up politely worded signs.

Given that I've seen corpses with more active sex drives than Crim, that would be quite the accomplishment on Tats' part.
