If we assume the Sisterhood that runs one of the AUs is the same one that's depicted as a rebel group here, we already know the world wouldn't be any better with them in charge.

That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulI think it's less trying to backtrack and more try to balance things out, send a more even-handed message.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It took me a while to figure out that he was imagining part of it
.
That probably wasn't a good idea, Slick.
edit: Fridge Logic, Slick's shorter than her, so how would she know that he has one unless...

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. This is what I mean when I say that I suspect Sinfest is sex-negative. The author never says quite enough in that vein to pin him down, but I'm not sure he even realizes that feminists can and usually do promote active and healthy sexual relationships. Were he to realize such, I think he'd be contemptuous of them.

One of the reasons I think Slick hasn't been featured much is that he's the hardest character to develop, he's pretty set as a character. Also, Slick and Monique have had sex and it wasn't a big deal. It was early on in the strip which makes me think it was Early-Installment Weirdness.
I thought you were wrong on that, so I did an Archive Trawl. It's interesting how different the comics from 2000 are. Here's
Monique's second appearance. Here's
a week later. You may be right.
Why do I get the impression Ishida really wanted to be a filmmaker and it didn't pan out?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.![]()
Maybe just the current arcs are gonna be coming to an end.
Y'know, I've often wanted to ask Ishida how he feels about his early work.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. This comic's art is finally getting good enough that I'm starting to be irritated by the lazier aspects. Besides that thing (also seen in Friendship Is Magic) where horns are drawn as if glued on top of hair rather than growing from under said hair, today's strip
has a blatant example of Sticks to the Back.
Edit: Okay, I should have noticed that in the shots where she removes the pitchfork from the sheath. Sorry. (But I'm still irritated by that thing with the horns.)

Blue is wearing a sheathe for her pitchfork that clearly has a strap across her chest.
You might argue that the sheathe disappears in a few panels, but I chalk that up to dramatic camera angles.

If I remember correctly, wasn't Fushia well on her way to being turned before Little Miss Straw Feminist showed up?
