1: What d Roy said.
2: Mathue, Math and Physics professors are in my experience some of the most genial and helpful professors in most universities. They're just eccentric. The arts professors can be either really cool, helpful, nice people, or total goddamned assholes. It varies wildly.
"Lock up your girlfriends, lock up your wives, Grim's on the loose so run for your lives." - PyriteThroughout high school, I had like 4 math teachers. All of them were weird. There was one who seemed to be pretty serious, but whenever there wasn't too much material to cover, he did all this really zany thing with completely straight face. In fact, he was the weirdest of them all.
My pre-calculus prefessor seems to be okay so far.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.I had the same teacher for Advanced Algebra, Trig, Pre-Cal and AP Cal. All of those in a row.
She was really nice though. Very approachable. I would have never gotten through those classes without that.
My English teacher for my senior year was a rather funny.
"Alright, I've told you, I don't do math. I took the College Algebra class I needed and got out of there as fast as I could."
Or, when someone was acting particularly loopy that day..
"Are you on drugs?"
—goes to class I'm considering dropping—
—gets lecture on how there will be debates and analyzing literature—
—all is well—
Read my stories!@Ultimate Frisbee is a class: Of course it is! The college gets to charge the same tuition it would for any other class, without even having to pay for expensive PHD professors and fancy labs/classrooms.
The real question is, why would anyone take ultimate frisbee as a class when you can play it for free?
<><Some college require a PE credit to graduate. Being well-rounded and all that.
@Saiga: Heading from Houston, stopping in Chicago for a transfer, then arriving in Boston.
I'm back at college now. I start classes in two days.
At the moment, my chosen courses are Intermediate Arabic, Linear Algebra, Data Structures, Discrete Structures, and Syntax. I might be taking Semantics too, depends on how crazy I'm feeling.
So, I'm in class now and Accounting is actually not as boring as I thought it'd be. It's sort of easy.
I might start working for my father as Bookkeeper soon to supplement all the material I learn in class and for a little extra money in my pockets.

Please be gentle with me.To answer two questions from the last two pages, yes, there are indeed dorms with kitchens and yes, Ultimate Frisbee is a class. It's not entirely common, though.
