If Blackboard is what I remember it being, Deakin moved onto Desire 2 Learn. It's not much better.
YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYWe use blackboard at my school, but I don't remember actually using it my freshman year (oops) and I haven't used it enough now to make a judgement on the quality of the program.
I will say that some teachers don't use it. Hey, history of software teacher, do I need to bring anything to my first class today? I'm assuming no.
@Ulitmately Subjective - I don't know about you and your country (you are not American, right?), but as Edwards Grizzly said, that is pretty much standard.
It turns out that my SAT critical reading score is high enough that I can actually skip ENG 101 and Com 201 (I am not sure if that is the right one). I can take Eng 102 and an elective course.
I am quite excited. I am going to my advisor immediately.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing. In the US (or at my school at least), to be considered full time you need to have at least 12 credit hours for that semester. Most Gen Ed classes and Major requirements (Maths, English, Sciences) are worth 3-4 hours each. It's encouraged you have 15+ though, in case you need to drop something.
I'm running 18 hours right now.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonSo my history and theory of software class is new this semester. Sweet! And half the class is there for the same reason I am.
12 hours is the full-time cutoff, but Subjective mentioned taking Biology, Physics, and Statistics, all of which are often 4-hour courses, so that might explain why 3 courses = full time in that case.
Normally you want to shoot for a bit over 15 hours so as to graduate in the usual 4 years, but it's smart to start with less freshman year because you'll have a lot of other stuff to adjust to and work out. I'm taking 16 hours right now: C++ programming, 2 upper-level computer science courses, intermediate Spanish, and discrete math.
<><I am also taking two one credit courses so currently I have total 14 credits this semester. I am fully aware of the required number of credits so I am planning to take 16+ hours next semester. So far what I am seeing is not too bad so I think I can manage it. Of course, since I only had my first class yesterday so this is a bit too quick to judge, but I will see.
I just went to my academic advisor. Dropped ENG 101. Took ENG 102. Now I can take an elective course next semester but now is not the time for me to worry about it.
It is the time for me to laugh like a mad man.

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.I really hate my American History teacher.
It's never good when the teacher starts of the class by saying he'll be teaching from the "Christian" perspective not the "Secular" one. Then proceed to show that he knows absolutely nothing about the Big Bang or evolution.
According to him, the secular veiw is that the earth formed from mud and water spinning in space.
I very nearly lost my temper that day.
@Matues: Buy him a copy of Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" and leave it on his desk at the start of class.
This is how I trolled my father (a "Young Earth" Creationist Christian) last Christmas.
I'll be taking a red-eye flight from San Francisco on Sunday,my new roomie is already there.
Sadly I am stuck with yet another kitchenless room,in the very same building I worked so hard to move away from after I found out how much of a sinkhole it truly is. But at least they put me on the newly renovated floor, instead of one of the floors that looks like something out of the '70's. But I have to climb stairs to the top floor each time and then I have to wait forever to do laundry,But the stairs are short and I am near all my classes
No,but now that I am no longer a freshman, there are on-campus apartments and mods I could've ended up in,...if my IP address didn't cop out every time I tried applying. Eventually I just had to receive a paper application.
Since it's very first come, first serve for them, all I could do was hope to high heavens I wouldn't get the worst dorm (which is pretty much what I wrote)
Classes wise I am taking
Re-taking Algebra (I'd rather not explain what happened the first time around)
Creative Writing
Ultimate Frisbee
Government
Biology

While mine this semester don't seem to use it too much.
