So I just looked at the Troper Demographics page...

And I found the entry under my username and it said I was 20 years old.

I'm actually turning 23 in a few weeks, so...that means I've been here over two years. Wow. @_@ I can't believe it's been that long already!

Update! Update!

And this, kids, is why you can't take the Troper Demographics pages at face value. The More You Know.

Sometimes I think that we should do a more rigorous survey, 'cos that one isn't that good for this reason. Plus the whole "opt-in" thing...

Updated~! And also edited my troper page since it still said something about me being new to the site. (I really need to go through and rewrite that thing someday.)

I sometimes wonder how accurate the Troper Demographics page is too. I am also interested in finding out who this Louie Louie person is.

Louie Louie: 19/M/Student doing Journalism/Complete geek when it comes to Sci Fi, books and Video games but have a wide circle of friends. I dress like a Mod and into 60s/70s culture though many of my best friends are Punks/Skinheads.

I think it can be interesting reading the Troper Demographics page though. If it is accurate at all (which I already question) then most of the people here are around the 17-25 year old range. That seems believable to me, but it is also a much higher age range than I am used to finding in forums.

I too should probably update my userpage. I suppose that it is pretty bland right now.

Just added myself to the demographics page. I am amazed (though not surprised) to see there are tropers older than my 49-year old parents.

Yeah, I just added myself earlier today. I don't think I even knew we had a page like this.

I kind of lied though. I don't actually turn 18 for another 2 days, but I don't want to have to go back and edit it then so whatever.

Eeeehhh. I tried to go ahead and add myself, since I knew that if I told myself to do it later I'd just forget... but it won't let me edit even though I said I Accept the 'new' terms D= . Egh, maybe I'll try again later, if I remember...

I am completely unsurprised to find that the demographics are more male than female.

When I put my post on there, I was obsessed with Final Fantasy.

^^ It's still more equal that most sites, though. Live Journal has a large amount of females with not many males and typical gaming forums is vice versa. That's partly why I love this site so much.

True, I've just that I occasionally stumble across things said about my fandoms which I find do not reflect my experiences as all (as a Live Journal person). The Fetish Fuel and Fan Fic Recommendation parts seem to trend heavily towards what male fans like, from what I've seen.

Yeah, from what I remember, Ms. Fanservice was created long before Mr. Fanservice. But it's nice for forum discussions, where you never get "you have no right to talk about women-related things because you're a man" or "TITS OR GTFO".
