^Yeah, I actually do read "kana, kana?" in my head, too.

That was one hell of a long review. Covered all of the important points though. Problem is, there's tons of important points XD

Dunno about the "normal" people, but for our cast, it seems hair color is the least of their worries :P

@Rainy Daze: The octopus-girl in your avatar seems familiar to me. Reminds me of this one Vocaloid that I forgot her name...

Re. Skynet leading to virtual Kyonko: Someone needs to either put that on the WMG page for Durandall to read in his spare time, or contact him directly with it, so he can consider the idea for future chapters.

Re. Kyon's mom:

1) Her "opinion" of her brother Keiichi and his family.

2) Her overly strict way of "disciplining" her son borders on socio-emotional abuse at times.

3) It's pretty much clear from her behaviour that she honestly believes that she has an unquestionable right to freely boss around Kyon and her husband (and Imouto/Nonoko, to a lesser degree).

4) She doesn't even bother consulting her own son in matters that directly concern him (e.g. Arranged Marriage).

I wonder if that raises Unfortunate Implications when combined with Shion's suggestion?

Something that's been bothering me for a while: how old does Hanyuu look now that Rika's an adult? Same as in Higurashi? Older herself?

4) She doesn't even bother consulting her own son in matters that directly concern him (e.g. Arranged Marriage).

That might have been influenced by Kyon's conversation with his father, though.

IIRC, Hanyuu looked the same as she did since her sacrificial death hundreds of years before ever meeting Rika for the first time.

My last post has been ninja'd, BTW.

Avatar? Tako Luka. Yes, it should remind you of a Vocaloid - Megurine Luka. Previous Avatar was mostly Gakupo.

Hmm... if someone doesn't put it on the WMG page before I can access it, I'll add it. XD WMG added, reword it as necessary.

On the topic of Hanyuu looking the same, she looks the same age as Rika does. But Rika is her descendant, which means Hanyuu was almost certainly older than she looks when she was killed...

Yeah, I know Astonishment should extend the storylines. The problem with that is when Astonishment is coming out, isn't it? =P

...Anyway. It's criminal that this fic doesn't have fanart, and if I could draw, I'd be all over it.

It's been fun.

Same, even if it's only of Kyon. =/

Ooh, since we're on the topic of fanart: which scene do you think would make the best desktop background? I'd say the one with Elegant Gothic Lolita Nagato. Boardgames and stuff going on as well. If I remember right. XD

That's definitely quite high up there. Probably my favorite scene to imagine.

I'd really like to see the pachinko parlor invasion, probably in a kind of dusty yellow sepia...ish tone. Damnit, I hate being able to visualize things but not actually produce them.

It's been fun.

If we're thinking about more actiony backgrounds... Dynamic Entries #1 and #2 would both be brilliant. Especially the lighting in those two.

I know what you mean about the visualisation thing. =/

Skynet's AI will develop into a virtual Kyonko.
It learns, after all. Add in constant exposure to Kyon's snark along with all its other users being female, not to mention being created from Asakura's leftover data, and a virtual Kyonko personality seems inevitable. Combine with internet access which could very well lead it to here and there could very well be an appearance to match the personality... if it isn't influenced by Kyon's taste in hairstyles.

Just checking there's no objections to the way I wrote that.

Just to say another scene, the Mikuru/Yuki/Haruhi/Tsuruya group hug. Preferently when Tsuruya is glomping the rest (as she's the last one to hug).

Just about in the middle of Chapter 29... it seems like poor Itsuki's getting left out of the Danshipping, not to mention most of the plot. Maybe he'll get more opportunity to get into Kyon's pants (or Haruhi's) in later chapters.

Speaking of which, when was the last update? I don't want this to have become Dead Fic now that I've gotten around to reading it.

It's been fun.

@Red: The last update was October 28. There was a bit of a parched period before that, but it's still getting updated. For awhile there, Durandall had an update coming out about once a week.

http://moonlitsilver.deviantart.com/#/d2wqz5u It sucks, but I actually did a picture of Tsuruya wearing Mion Sonozaki's outfit awhile back thanks to this fic, and I'm working (slowly) on something else. So, yes, it does have a little bit of fanart.

Oh, holy crap. That was the only picture that showed up when I searched DA for the series... I thought it was a fluke of the search system, actually. But hey, high five! Feel like spilling some details on this other project...? =D

/Hopes it's Delinquent!Kyon

@Rainy: I'd like that, I think. But of course then Skynet would also want into Kyon's pants (though she spends most of her time there anyway, har har).

Ah! I totally forgot about this! Thanks for jogging my memory, Red! I went to an anime convention awhile back, hunted through the dealer's room, and found a good artist to take a commission. It's not Kyon, but it's from the same scene:

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i108/sterlingsilver3000/randomness/commissionyukidelinquent.jpg?t=1288670753

Yuki in delinquent mode. The uniform was one I pulled off the net that looked like it would be a good counterpart to the male uniform Durandall described. I completely forgot to tell the artist that the hat had to be black even though the uniform was blue, though, so it doesn't quite fit the description in the story. It's still much better than anything I could do, though.

EDIT: Fixed!

EDIT PART 2: I should probably take some time to glorify the artist I got the commission from. http://obi-quiet.deviantart.com/ Go check her stuff out, she's pretty awesome. :)

Dude, tell me you're gonna fix that link.

Also: beach chapter. There's no way this is going well.

EDIT: Nice! I'll have to page through her gallery when I'm not as busy.

Also... I was right, the beach chapter doesn't go well.

This was brought up a while back in an old discussion page (back before we moved the trope page). Durandall doesn't have a handle yet but is a lurker. Unless that's changed since then and Durandall would like to keep some level of anonymity.

...I want to make an AMV of the pachinko parlor invasion to Remember the Name. I know it's cliche (and I want to make an AMV to everything with that song nowadays, it seems...) but it just seems like it works. Seriously, read that chapter with Kyon's "Don't kill anyone" lining up with the string chords just before the chorus kicks in the first time. Gave me shivers.

^ I'm Durandall.

I just find it fairly amazing that the guy obviously spends time here — so close, yet so far away, particularly with this Kyonko suggestion.
