Thanks. The OP implied it was a double pic with Manipulative Bastard, which doesn't appear to be true any more.
Edit: Oh. Actually, it was suggested for Manipulative Bastard and then suggested here. My mistake.

First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things. They're all pretty lousy, really. They all depend on text; none of them show it visually, like the Batman one does (which was allegedly going to be used for Manipulative Bastard, but never was).
How, if at all, is the Freefall one supposed to demonstrate this trope? It doesn't really strike me as indicative.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon Stewart![]()
Much more subtle... it's hard to tell from the wording. Too subtle to make a good page image IMO.

Actually, it doesn't. The trope isn't about manipulation as much as just pushing people to their most likely action.
Anyone have a scan of the same comic that was used for the page image on Don't Explain the Joke? Batman should have a moment explaining his gambit, which would properly show the trope.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
That would be pretty good; I recall the animated version of that story, and it certainly qualifies as an example of the trope... it also has the added bonus of involving the trope namer.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartWhat, you mean come up with a suggestion? Or add the Batman one to the crowner?
Though I dunno if that would work better here, or on Manipulative Bastard.
I found these
pages
through this
google image search, for a source of scans of the story Dragon Quest Z mentioned earlier. Here is one panel arrangement I came up with.
A couple other panel arrangements are in the crowner, but I still think we should try to come up with further panel arrangements still to see what works best.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI said it before and I'll say it again, the Freefall one is way too subtle to make clear that it is of the trope. We should aim for something more obvious.

Seeing as how the latter is more relevant to use as a page image, I`d consider that a point in favour of the third.
