I can't see why that would even bother someone at all to see the site called that.

Seriously, did I miss a Zelda V Majora war or something?

Majoro is also a silly sounding name.

Something just came into my head: Did people stop calling Link To The Past "Zelda 3" and Links Awakening "Zelda 4" at some point?

I'd imagine once the younger generation popped up calling Oo T Zelda 1 and MM Zelda 2, the others just sorta got angry and stopped their own fallacies. evil grin But there's no proof.

Fallacies? Isn't that the release order? I know it's not a common practice in this fandom, but the Fire Emblem fans number the games despite them not being officially numbered, and no one seems to mind.

I don't really see anything wrong with calling them Zelda 3 and Zelda 4, as they came after Zelda 2. It used to be rather common practice.

The Metroid games are actually also officially numbered, with Super Metroid being Metroid 3 and Metroid Fusion being Metroid 4.

Maybe in release order, but Link to the Past was a prequel, I thought. Wouldn't you do something like call that Zelda 0 or something?

[up] Do you call Temple of Doom Indiana Jones 2?

Okay, no you don't, because no one does that, but the point still stands.

It does look kind of funny if you list the chronological order of the games using the number they were released.

15→11→8→5→Split

A:9→13→14

B:6→12→10

C:3→7→4→1→2

[up] There are 16 canon games. I think you may have skipped Four Swords.

[up]No, I listed Oracles together as 7 and Four Swords as 8.

Oh right, the Oracle games. I keep forgetting that they don't really have a set order.

I really blame Pokémon for spoiling the two-version concept that makes everybody think that the Oracle games are the one and same. They aren't. =/

[up]Because they can go in any order. If you're listing the games like that, it's easier to label them as one game.

I would know how different they are, I played them.

Yes...because he was listing the games as numbers, in chronological order. You can't list the Oracle games in chronological order, so you have to include them together. One follows the other, and there's no way to tell which is which. Hell, they were released on the same day, so listing them both as the seventh release is technically correct.

I think it's obvious Kuro is aware that they're separate games and listed them together for the sake of convenience.

Fair enough. I've seen so many places treating the games as just "OOX" (heck, this very wiki does!) that I hadn't seen that Kuro did remember they were different. =/

[up] To be fair, they do sort of need to be treated that way. You can play them as completely separate games, but the full story is only apparent if you play them as one.

This is exactly what I had meant by not wanting to share my opinions at all, knowing that nobody will agree with me. This time, I said it's not fair to treat them as one game and no single support comes, there's always a pretext to render my arguments wrong no matter what. =/

To be fair, I understand that treating them in the same fashion as the various Pokemon titles (and other series that release separate but nearly-identical versions of the same game) is incorrect due to how different the two Oracle games are, but the linked game is the full story. Ages and Seasons are two halves of the same game. For convenience's sake, it's easier to list them together as one, complete experience than muddling things with designations like 7A, 7B, 7.1, 7.2, whatever floats your boat. No need to get fussy about it.
