Now, the consensus among gay guys on this site seems to be towards the mega-masculine Hard Gay type, but seriously, sometimes it's fun to be a stupid beatch.

Also, in their existancce they question the paradigm of masculinity. Why should men be one dimensional? Being a gay man doesn't mena being a gay lumberjack.

One of my best friends is a boy who does musical theater and is straight but acts so stereotypically gay you wouldn't believe it. Yes, as far as stereotypes go I'm quite a fan of this one.

From the video:

He made vaginas too small and he's looking for a scapegoat

and

I don' want to know as the original sinner

Of course you don't, it sounds like a terrible rap name

Why should men be one dimensional?

Because that would mean that we would start to see people as complex individuals that we should respect, in other words: society would collapse.

-is quite fond of Camp Gay-

First off, it's a bit of much needed levity in a group that faces a lot of oppression.

Second, anything that results in the phrase 'lisp like a cobra' is awesome.

Third, anything that results in Jann Walker is further awesome.

seriously, he's a flamboyantly gay man wearing makeup who beats tanks into submission by pounding them from behind with a rocket on a stick. And he can always go another round.

I was going to add something but that piddling thought was utterly eclipsed by the phrase "lisp like a cobra". All other thoughts have been blanked, to allow space and reverence for that awesome string of words.

^^I think you meant "levity" but I agree.

I'm a Yaoi Fangirl, but I've got a preference towards masculine gay men.

Camp Gays are lots of fun to be around, in my opinion.

Anyone who gives off the vibe of feeling bien dans sa peau is all right with me. But every now and then I run into someone who seems to be forcing a dramatic personality and it feels bad to be around them.

It's not a camp gay thing exclusively, either; it happens with anyone who seems desperate to have a good time. I think it's just an outward social extension of my depression. Like, "Not so loud! Your insecurity is preying on my insecurity!" sad

I have a straight friend who's pretty camp, people have actually thought he was gay before. And I like camp gays just as much as hard gay guys, they both can be great people :D

I just realized Camp Gay Men. As in Camp Gaymen. HA! Camping. I'm for letting gays into the BSA, but really camp isn't appropriate for, well, camp.

Than we should do the secret handshake, shouldn't we?

Although you wouldn't have made it past the board if you'd been to obvious, so you can certainly "dial it down".

yeah, but now I no longer have to
