The page image is just a face and a caption: Oh Crap

I noticed that in disscusions about the page image for Oh, Crap!, many people said that the image isnt good, but it is the best they have. one person suggested a Wile e coyote◊ picture so I tried to find it. please answer if you think this image is good!

Is that trope about a kind of moment, or an expression in response to a kind of moment? Can't tell.

(If it's an expression, "just a face" is okay, tho not the best. If it's a moment, ideally it would show both the face and the cause. Either way it would be better to show the cause.)

That Double Take face looks awesome Enlong and would definitely work for the page!

So classic Wile E Coyote or Insane Screaming Double Take Face.... sorry got to go with the classics myself. I vote Wile E Coyote 2, or at least to move it to Gravity Sucks and move Enlong's to Double Take.

It's actually not a Double Take, so it wouldn't go well there.

The screaming face lacks the context to interpret the situation that's causing it.

I like Wile Coyote #2. Heck, it works far better than the current page image for Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress....

Though I can't recall the precise arguments off the top of my head, that Eneru pic has been shot down as a viable image for this page more times than I can count. Might have something to do with how the expression is so damned weird.

As for the Wile. E. Coyote pic, it has the disadvantage of being far more perfect for Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress, which is also in need of a new image.

And yes, this page is about an 'oh shit I'm doomed' reaction on the part of a character.

If the trope is just a facial expression, then just a face isn't that bad. Enlong's face is better than the current face for sure.

Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress already has a page image that was picked for it. It doesn't need a new one.

No. We don't need one that primarily shows another trope. I still think the character would be good for the page. Just not that image. Maybe one of something heavy about to fall on his head instead.

We just went over this image... the current image has been there forever, the last thread a larger version of the same moment was chosen.

just because that image was there for a long time, doesnt mean that it is the right. If you look at the discussion page, you will notince that quite a few people want that image changed. Besides, Wile E Coyote is much better known for having this expression on his face all the time.

Being better known for demonstrating the trope is irrelevant to whether or not the picture is good.

"Better known" means just about nothing here. The general method here is to assume that there is someone who knows nothing about the work itself, and then see if the picture makes sense to that person.

Unless it's just that famous. Like, Superman on a page like Übermensch.
