Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Having done QA, no, that's not all QA involves. Not even close. And it's insulting and reductive to imply it is.
Good QA involves not only making sure you can finish the goddamn game, but also testing various edge cases and scenarios the devs may not have planned. "What happens if I do X then Y? What happens if I toggle this option at this moment", etc...
Good QA actually takes a level of creativity and thinking to see what players might do in certain scenarios.
Should also be pointed out that it's not like automation doesn't already exist in QA.

QA generally doesn't write bug fixes. That's a dev job. Though this varies where in a dev cycle a game is who is in charge of fixing it.

I'm not an expert on it at all but don't you also have to keep upgrading/replacing the generative A.I. every few years so it's up to date with the latest tech and thus get more expenses?

Generative AI hasn't even been around for longer than "A few years". Ridiculous snake oil that it is.
It's going to cause a lot of problems with the code. It's ridiculous to think this will work out.
You are not alone. It's not really about saving money. It's about power over their employees. Squenix doesn't actually care if this ends up costing them more money, because the point is that they absolutely hate the people who work for them and want to do everything in their power to make their employees' lives worse. They want the employees to be so scared of losing their jobs that they'll work more hours for less pay and fewer benefits.
Is it rational? No, not in the slightest. But a pure, absolute contempt for workers is a core aspect of modern corporate capitalism. Thus, Squenix lays off a bunch of people while investing in generative AI that will do a shittier job and require the remaining employees work even harder to fix all the mistakes it makes. The only real hope is that players don't just pass on the upcoming games, but make it clear that the use of generative AI is the reason they're doing so.

Hm, these algorithms I wrote aren't quite giving the results I expect. I know! I'll write an algorithm to detect and correct my other algorithms when they don't give the results I expect. Now everything will give the results I expect!
