They have all been in multiple things with better direction and scripts but Tifa and Cloud are pretty consistently stilted. Gearge Newbern, Quinton Flynn and Rick Gomez will be missed though.
A shame not having the classic Superman VA voice an irredeemable monster.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm much more liable to blame the script and direction since most things the vii cast have been in since the original have mediocre writing at best, but I'm not really mourning most of the old V As being gone either.
1) are there people in 2019 that still think online Petitions are worth the electrons they are made from (Not like you can't just artificially add names!)
2) Hi random Troper account created today to shill a petition. I'd bother responding but you're litterally just a spam account.

I admittedly only watched the first couple trailers but I wasn't impressed with t he new Cloud or Aerith VA's anyway.
But I have pretty much zero interest in the remake. Let them do whatever. Sorry old VA's, loyalty is a long dead concept.
FFX doesn't get enough credit for its voicework. The VA's put in a lot of heart even if the direction was limited. Even minor voices like Dona's were so, so good.
Having played the Persona 2 games, I have to wonder why Square held off on having real voice-acting in an FF game until the PS 2. If Atlus in the 90s could do it, they definitely could have. Hell, Xenogears had some limited voice-acting, too. But FF VII-IX and Chrono Cross got nothing.
Probably a stylistic choice. Their stance probably didn't change til Spirits Within happened.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowIINM its only the Remake that has a new voice cast. Dissidia still uses the original crew.
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyIts not the first time they have switched voice casts for the english version. FFXIV completely changed every voice going from ARR to Heavensward.
With the exception of one or two V As it was a massive improvement across the board.
I swear I've been cursed to never beat FF 8. In every copy of the game I've played in my life, the third disc onwards has always been unusable.
I bought the game on Steam a few months ago, and it froze when I was nearing the end of Disc 2.
Kaze ni Nare! How's that possible? Steam version's purely digital.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowmaybe they are cursed by the LICH!
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!A really nice video from Clemps about the Dissidia series. (you guys should really check out this guy's stuff if you haven't already, he did some great videos on the Nier series)
And speaking of Dissidia, a new chapter got added to Opera Omina and of all the in franchise crossover Crack Ships I was not expecting Noel x Ultimecia to get any fuel.
GOH! JII! RAH!Should still try Opera Omnia again.
I know Freya's in the game now but is any of her stuff readily available?
I think right now the only way to get her weapons is to buy them through Weapon tokens. The new chapter adds Noel from XIII-2 so they are giving out his base weapon for free, plus there's several free event banners going on (More info here) so now's probably the perfect time to jump back in

GOH! JII! RAH!Noel x Ulty new OTP
Heart of Stone*internal screaming*
I would think she and Caius would get on better.
Fuck time.
Noel and Ultimecia are/were/will be the last people left alive at the end of the world, it's not that odd that they'd find a connection there
Heart of StoneUltimecia wouldn't be the last person if she wasn't busy killing everyone else.
Yeah, exactly. I was like "what? That's a terrible comparison. Ultimecia's goal is to kill everyone end ensure she's the last living being, Noel's goal is to ensure everyone lives even if it erases his own existence."
Interesting metaphysical questions there. If Noel's world never comes into being, does his soul still exist in Valhalla? So he's still alive but not born or alive in areal sense.

Noel exist's outside of the timeline warping regardless of paradoxes and such because he's a guardian or something I think.
I had been in the Gamefaqs FFVI/FFIII forum and one point made by a fairly knowledgeable user on how Terra is actually a fairly resilient and how her characters isn't just learning love but also finding out why she fights. I am not very versed on the 'finer' points of the games but I am beginning to realize that Terra's arc isn't what I thought that it was. I am also starting to think that FFVI wasn't the game that I thought it was as well.
"I am going down a DOWNWARD SPIRAL!!"I really like Rinoa in FF 8. I was expecting to find her boring but her character animation is really charming for some reason, in a way the others characters aren't. I'm not sure if I'm imagining it. She seems to go full anime at points (as much as PS 1 graphics can allow anyway), like when she forces Irvine back into an armoured car by literally leaping in the air and smooshing him back down with both hands.

Kaze ni Nare!Rinoa gets a lot of undeserved hate. She had the most compelling character arc of the entire party.
Which is why I'm sad it was mostly abandoned to focus on her relationship with Squall and nothing else. I guess she just never resolves her problems with her father and her mother's death. That sucks.
It doesn't hurt that I love her design and this song

Wasn't the script & voice direction not very good?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
