If Tony Jay was still alive today, do you see him doing voice work for a Final Fantasy game?

I'd rather see him back doing the final Legacy Of Kain game, but that franchise is as dead as he is.

It he was still here, he would've definitely been a good fit for a FF villain.

I also just remembered his character was killed in the last Legacy of Kain game, so yeah, that was never gonna happen anyway :P

Even after his sacrifice in the Forest Temple, I found it kind of bothersome how the crew just accepted him just like that. Especially after that one stunt that pissed players off big time.

Well, Elder god wans't so much killed as "pinned down for a longass time by Kain" but yeah.

So I gotta say, I'm really hung up on a Final Fantasy V remake or port.

I'd prefer the former, but I'd be cool with the latter. I'm glad that Switch is gonna get a bunch of the old FF games that (barring VIII) soon, but I'd love to be able to play an updated version (if we can't get something new, and I wonder if that's actually a possibility as well).

So my random question is: if they revealed a full 3D Remake for an FF game (not unlike Final Fantasy IV for Nintendo DS), what would you want it to have?

I know my choice, and I want to be able to use Spell Blade with Barehanded for some Elemental Fist awesomeness. I know that's completely against the concept of Spell Blade, but Rob cares not! Fists of Fire MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!

Maybe also a late game ability to let you do other things you couldn't do in the original game (use Kick with any job class, control the Berserker, make Katana's compatible with Spell Blade as well).

Bravely Second had an ability for Ranger that gave an 80% chance of controlling your Berserker, which I find okay. I feel like controlling it 100% kind of defeats the idea of the job.

I think the X-2 version of Berserker was a pretty good way of making Berserker more viable then just an attack bot.

I kind of like Berserker but I do wish that we could "control" what our Berserker does so that they don;t get one shotted for just attacking.....

What about the self-aware nature of FFV? They should keep that too.

Oh yeah. I never said anything about touching that.

Hell, maybe with the improved graphics, they could do even more. Like have Gilgamesh wink at the screen or something.

Or maybe a battle scene with some Camera Abuse.

You know, there’s one thing I wouldn’t like out of a Final Fantasy V remake:

I’ve never liked Amano’s art for Bartz and Lenna. I thought their sprite artwork looked better, but a potential remake would probably use more he Amano style (like how most of the Dissidia games do).

I don’t have any opinions on Galuf and Krille because I can’t remember what they look like in Amano’s style and Farris is the only one that really works to me (in that Amano’s version of her truly looks like a woman trying to pass herself off as a man).

so what your saying is you want Lenna and Faris to have the wild anime colored hair and not amano's standard every female is pale and blonde

I know Blonde hair is considered exotic in Japan and all, but green works so much better.
