Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I'm not fond of those character models. Games like Tactics always grabbed me with their blocky, 2D art style, without it, it misses something.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!i've heard people say xiii's voice actors are fine.
typically it's the script that gets roasted.

I saw Final Fantasy Tactics.
Why was I not informed of this earlier? I hope the hype train still has seats.
Vanille seemed around Hope's age to me. Anyways, can't wait to get back to XIII. I try not to use auto battle. Also, I play much better as the less offensive roles. In fact, I'm just better at the magic focused Roles.
Vanille Saboteur is OP.
TV spots for FF Grandmasters(the iOS spin-off of XI):
Part 2 of the Sakurai/Nomura interview. The action game part will most likely interest most(Nomura's big thing is that he wants them to feel right), the 1970 video game makers might make you go huh(quite a few SE directors there) and I want a pair of cats named Nomura and Sakurai in a game.
I want to get Explorers, but I don't hear anyone talking about the game at all. Does it suck or something?
That was one of those things that worried me about it, too.
What I've seen of the different videos makes the whole thing seem pretty phoned in - Monster Hunter it very much isn't.
Yeah the game seems pretty meh to me.
Worlds Of Final Fantasy though has piqued my interest. I with FF had more actually interesting stuff coming out 'soon' for PS 4/Vita though.

It actually is like a mix of PSO and MH but the budget looks to have been very small. It's not a outright bad or broken game but it could've been so much more. Releasing around the same time as a real MH game didn't help.
Yeah it seems like the biggest problem is a low budget - the animation is very barren and the graphics (not just quality, but the art direction) are very generic and uninteresting.
It feels like the whole classic FF hero summoning gimmick was compensating for a decent-but-not-great game.
I think it was a minor company that approached SE with a idea for a multiplayer game(Racjin or something). They ended up doing this and a Saga remake where most of their team went.

The Japanese fan reception for Explorers seems to be pretty lukewarm. Seem to think it's somewhat unbalanced and very unpolished compared to other monster hunting games.
Ignore that I derpily mixed up blast and ray.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Yikes, 2 million plus damage.
I'm reminded why I hate the gameplay of XIII. It's the only game I know of that insults you for playing it.I just did a bunch of Hunts - er, sorry, Cieth Stones - and I got zero stars on the last one. It's the one where there are two types of gremlins and you have to kill them in a specific order or they just spawn more. I died so many times trying to figure out the gimmick and then on my successful run, it apparently took me two more minutes than it should have.
Go fuck yourself, FFXIII. I like this thing called HEALING. IT'S KIND OF IMPORTANT IN RPG's.. After dying countless times, yes, I spent a lot of time healing. I was kinda tired of dying.
I don't know what I'm fucking doing wrong. I do just fine against strong enemies but throw a lot of trash at me and I always seem to take longer than what the game expects me to. It's irritating.
On the bright side, I finally got Hope's and Vanille's cutscene for myself. Hooray! I restate that the Ship Tease between those two is off the charts.

As far as I've heard, using crap weapons increases the time you're allowed to take to get 5 stars. Presumably, once you've done enough grinding, raw stats should deal with the much weaker hunts.
I have upgraded my weapons a fair amount... No idea how much, though. I don't understand XIII's weapon mechanics well. I have a few items that I think are necessary for getting ultimate weapons? Maybe? I just know the game won't let me use them when I upgrade.
I also got a new shop! With an item that costs 2,000,000 Gil! I barely have 100K and I'm grateful for that. I now need 20 times that. That isn't even counting the other stuff.
It's madness.
So I got The After Years on PC and after years of my own not playing any Final Fantasy game, I remembered that Final Fantasy does not like to pull any of it's punches, and that I will be picking up my teeth before long into this game.
Still enjoying it, though, but maybe some tips for making my life easier if anyone knows?
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here. The PC is a port of the DS version, right? Or is it the PSP version?

Wait around for moon phases ideal to your party if you're having trouble - Ceodore and his new buddy are gonna like physical attacks a lot more than magic, for example.
I'm pretty sure sure the PC port is of the ios version of the game, considering that's the only other 3D version of the After Years.
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.@Nikkolas: git gud scrub. Once you get swole you can take down almoat anything.
:p
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.
Children of Zodiarcs. That sounds rather ominous.
