DQV’s plot is really direct and solid 3 acts that could either make a good movie or a trilogy of movies.
As badly as I want to play DQ 11 right now I can hold out for the Switch version if it lets Erk bang the Luminary.
Does anyone have hard time recruiting the hard to recruit monsters in the DS version of DQV? I know I am.
Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is so much fun. The randomized key system and breeding system really extended the playtime! My endgame team was 3 Rainhawks all made from different combinations of monsters for fire/ice immunity and a healthy amount of hit points, unlike Gem Slimes.
Speaking of, one thing that's interesting about DQ from my experience is how it averts Linear Warriors, Quadratic Wizards by making the spells/breath deal fixed damage but for physical attacks the cap can be the damage cap.

I loved that game so much. It makes me sad the remakes never left Japan.

That's pretty cool, DQ does have a lot of unique monsters.

I just want to know if the extra content will be released as DLC for us plebs that bought the original game. I've been holding off on continuing just in case I need to start over.
That is something we havent heard much about, but since they JUST released the PC release not too long ago and they did the same thing for World Of Final Fantasy I am hoping so.
The key thing that needs to be remembered, the Switch version was heavily delayed because they couldn't port the original XI because the Switch ran a newer version of UE 4 than what they originally built the game in, forcing them to rebuild the game from the ground up.
Whether they can just patch the new content in is based on whether the new content can be ported to an old engine, or if not, then whether the potential money from a DLC sale is more than the time and effort to recreate the content.
DQXI Hero is Smash number 72.
And we have some other DQ heroes as clones.
XIS is September 27th

I wonder if there's any way to make DQ big internationally. It gets a steady stream of English releases but the games never seem to deliver much hype outside of Japan. They're Cult Classic at best.
We got Eighter! =D
"Fighter," you mean?
They mean the hero from DQ 8.
We've got a new trailer for Dragon Quest: Your Story.
I'm nearly 1 week late, but I just got around to looking at the trailer for the Hero in SSB. I also watched a reaction crossover. It's funny seeing so many English-speaking people's non-reactions and mixed reactions to the series compared to Japan's reactions.
I wonder how much SSB will help Dragon Quests popularity outside of Japan. I remember that FE was all-but unknown prior to Melee and was still niche during Brawls heyday. Now look how huge it is. SSB helped a sum to get people to pick up the series.
My first exposure of the franchise is the manga with the hero who is identical to kid Goku. I also remember coming across a manga featuring an older hero.
I'm planning to buy XI for the Switch when it comes out, hopefully. Looks like this game has the equivalent of fashion gear, which is always welcome.

I'm also planning on getting XI, it'll be my first dip into the franchise, but seems like a decent game to jump in from what I've heard.
The fact it's on Switch is nice too, being able to easily grind out a few levels if I get stuck while doing something else is a definite plus in my mind.
