Doesn't sound like it will be out any time soon though. On Switch i mean.

Dragon Quest XI for Switch is taking it's sweet time because the version of UE4 the game was originally built in is too outdated to run on the Switch, western localization is still planned for the Switch version, and they originally planned to delay the western PS4 release to match the Switch version, but decided against it.
Well, I am grateful a Switch localization is confirmed.
Still, the reasoning behind the Switch delay kind of makes me roll my eyes. You'd think Square would learn from the self-inflicted Development Hell they've repeatedly imposed on themselves over the past decade, but apparently not.
Unreal's Switch situation is something that a lot of devs have issues with. Literally the only Unreal 3 game on the switch is Rocket League and that took some insane amounts of work to get working from what I have read on blogs.
Unreal 4 on the switch is slightly better but its a few iterations behind the other platforms, which I would assume Square used the most current one at the time.

Dual Shockers confirms the Switch version of DQXI is based off the PS4 version and the reason it wasn't developed at first was because when they got the SDK for the Switch it didn't have UE4, and when it did get UE4, the version they used was outdated.
Also, here is Okamoto reasoning for not localizing the 3DS version:

Updates on Dragon Quest Builders 2, including diagonal blocks and first-person mode.
Square-Enix looking to speed up localization time for the Dragon Quest franchise
Looking forward to playing Dragon Quest XI tonight.
Meanwhile the rest of us are still waiting for the Switch version. I hate that America isn't at least getting the 3DS version.
You'll be waiting awhile though, Japan hasn't even gotten the switch version.
I'm really loving the characters so far. I just met Sylvando and he is just the best.

The monster designs are great.
The Switch Port of XI is getting an added ":S" to the end.
Question for the XI endgame if I go on the true end path, will it lock me out of the quests I currently have? Like I have that gambling one that requires a jackpot which will take a ton of grinding to get.
I got that jackpot in about 15 minutes. There's plenty of tricks to help improve your chances.
So it’s not ok to move on? That is disheartening.
Got a guide for that?

For the roulette jackpot, talk to the bunny girl next to the jackpot counter. If she says something like "I have a feeling someone will win big soon!", then you're good to go. If not, go stay at and inn or camp. Repeat until you get the line.
Then go to the big roulette table in the center of the casino. Bet on spaces 12 and 14. Repeat until you win a jackpot.
Alright, took 3 resets and an hour and got it. Now in the true ending route and ooh wow the game cranked up the difficulty. Looking for the 3 seeds and found a quest to go up the tor.... only to get obliterated by the event battle mid way through.
Clearly its time to level grind (around 55 across the board) or try to find better gear.
Any advise one where to start first? They seem to have thrown the sandbox at me and every event seems piss hard.
Grind to 99 using Jade + Luminary + Sylvando's pep power to turn all encounters into metal slimes.
Bonus points for looking up where to grind skill seeds so you can buy everyone's skills too.
The Switch version of Dragon Quest XI is adding what might as well be same-sex marriage.
Producer Hokuto Okamoto supplemented Horii’s statement, adding, “You can choose the partner you live with.”
So they're not calling it marriage but it's functionally the exact same thing.

Dragon Quest Rivals out today for Nintendo Switch
The ghostly, glowing light and particle effects surrounding Jasper in the new scenes suggest pretty heavily that this new scenario takes place during the postgame, after his and Mordegon's deaths in the new timeline. I wonder what SE is planning...

I wish we could get Rivals too.
I would have put in news that a movie based on Dragon Quest V is coming, but it looks like I got beaten to it...
Taking a glance, apparently DQV is considered Dragon Quest at its very best, being the favorite of the DQ creator AND is the best reviewed of all the DQ games.
