A change of camera perspective isn't necessarily a change in gameplay style. And, frankly, I played most of Dragon Age in third-person anyway, only switching to tactical view to cast spells or coordinate the party. Certainly I was always close up when just exploring. You can have tactical combat without tactical view, although I'd be annoyed if characters don't auto-attack.
My latest liveblog.huh, guess I'm the weird one after all.
I dunno, I liked something like VATS in Fallout 3, queing up commands turn based style and stuff if you needed to - but giving you the option to just hack and slash if you wanted to - guess I just want the option to choose between two different styles - admittedly that's probably asking for too much.
^^ Just doing R Tw P + TB is already incredibly taxing and had really really BAAAAD results in the only game where I've seen it done (Arcanum). I can only imagine how bad it would become if you added an action-y combat mode (that would need its own different mechanics) to that.

What is with the Bioware Social Boards and Brother–Sister Incest? Shit is starting to freak me out.
I hope they actually have NPC's hook up with each other this time.
T Hey haven't done thta since Aerie/Haer'Dalis.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThat might be cool. But personally? I really hope you get to rule Kirkwall like an Italian City state at some point, with all the politiking and backstabbing that comes with it. It irritates me that a game like that hasn't been made yet.
Also, who do you guys think is going to be the main set of bad guys? The Qunari? Flemeth? The Templars?
Given their prominence in the material we have I suspect the Qunari ar going to play SOME kind of role (although possibly as one faction you can manuever around, and possibly ally with, rather than the Big Bad)
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent^^ assassin's creed II kinda had you running an italian city minus the political backstabbing (there were enough political conspiracies in the main game I guess)admittedly that's probably not what you were thinking about at all.
^^^ doesn't harvest moon have npcs hooking up if you don't romance them fast enough or something? don't really know cause farming got too hard :(

Nah, I want a "Machiavelli simulator"
, but working with different factions to ensure the defense of your city, alongside helping the helpless and beating the tar out of templars (I hate those guys) has a strange appeal to me.
Assassins Creed 2 just had you owning a small town, with no problems coming from that and (although it was nice to run around) there was no soul to it, its why I like the idea of brotherhood where you build up the order again to take down the pope and ensure that the vast conspiracy against you is missing a lot of members.
For the record, a developer confirmed a while back that there is no Karma Meter and that the article that mentioned a morality system was (apparently) referring to the difficult choices in the game.
^^^^ When I said "They" I meant Bio Ware specifically.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent^^^ Gee, that narrows it down if you allow both definitions of unpopular (i.e. "Who the fuck is that guy?" and "Oh hi Alistair")

Also, it' immersion-breaking. When I design a character I don't want to be constrained by my own personal flaws. (If I make a character with Dex 18 I don't want to have to deal with my own dex 7) The closer you link the character to the player the less it feels like you're playing a character and the more it feels like you're just ordinary you.
