Well, I didn't have the time to go through all the hundreds of random battles that it would take.

This is on an n64, right?

Yeah, it'd take quite a bit.

Well, somewhere north of 1000 battles against World of Mammon enemies.

Yeah... did you get all the spirits? Oh, did you use any items that weren't from random battles/npc's?(as in treasure chest items)

I got all the spirits, and didn't use any items except for the warp wings.

Ah. Did you grab any chests?

No, I don't mean Shilf's. >_>

All of them that I'm aware of. I think I ended the game with something like 106 items.

Next game you should gain one of every item via battle/npc's. Then grab every chest but Shilf's.

I'm sorry, but man, her size... There's a reason I call them Mammonaries.

I was wondering how many treasures it was possible to get over the course of the game if you did that.

114. Makes the 150 slot seem useless... except in the japanese version where you can get 2 more of each regular item.

Which comes out to 142. I'm guessing they planned it so there was no "limit" to how many of any item you can get through battle.

I figured it would be closer to 120.

Yeah.

But eh. Kinda disappointing anyway. Why only 114? It seems like such a waste unless you use a Gameshark...

So, what are the regular items?

Dew Drop, Mint Leaves, Heroes Drink, Dragon Potion, Fresh Bread, Honey Bread, Healing Potion, Spirit Light, Celine's Bell, Replica, Silver Amulet, Golden Amulet, Giant's Shoes...

Any that I missed?

You forgot the Silent Flute.

Of course, there's the six key items and the six wings. Those were included in the 114 count too.

That means there's 102 available consumable items overall max. There's 14 total consumable items separately.

In the Japanese version, you can get 54 total items without treasure chests. And in the American/UK version, 26 items without chests.

Six Key Items = Earth Orb, Wind Jade, Water Jewel, Fire Ruby, Eletale Book, and Dark Gaol Key?

Yes.

There's a bit more in the remake. Like the Water Orb(a weaker version of the Water Jewel), the Ocarina, Warrior's Staff, Warrior's Badge, Warrior's Cape, the Mirror, and possibly some others.

Do the jewels or Eletale Book have any use in-game as an item? As in, can you use said items during battle for some effect or another?

Because if so, that would have been really cool.

Nope.

All key items are just that, keys. They all technically unlock a door or an event.

And what event does the Fire Ruby unlock?

I think the ability to actually go to Brannoch. I'm not sure if the elemental gems have any unlocking to do...

Anyway, night.

Well, the Earth Orb unlocks the gate to Dondoran Flats, the Wind Jade unlocks the door to lower Larapool's water, the Water Jewel activates the boat to Limelin, the Eletale Book activates the Stone Circle, and the Gaol Key transports you to Mammon's domain...

The Fire Ruby... nothing in particular.

I was referring to the GB Remake.

The Fire Ruby unlocks the shortcut between Cull Hazard and Dimdom Dries.
