Trope about luck-based cats?

Black cats causing bad luck is a very common trope as a Bad Luck Charm/Doom Magnet. Curiously, this has been relegated to Cat Stereotype even though it's so widespread. A conversation about black cats did pop up once upon a time but not much since.

Conversely, the Maneki Neko exists for cats that signify good luck among cats. This led to me thinking there could be a Super-Trope for cats and luck, splitting off the examples of black cats (and maybe white cats?), where their presence influences outcomes. Not sure if it's necessary or how to go about it, however, so I wanted to get thoughts about this.

I think that seems viable. There's a recent draft that... may have been going for something similar, possibly being about cats being seen as a Portent of Doom (honestly, it was going for everything and nothing seemingly at the same time. I'm 99% sure that the sponsor started with the name Hellcat and worked backwards to try to make a trope from it) but this seems much more concrete.

EDIT: Here's the TLP I mentioned: Ominous Occult Cats (Up For Grabs). It's up for grabs, so if you want to mine it for examples and then potentially discard it, I think it's reasonable.

[up] Right! I remember seeing that—I think the context was it was meant for cats to be demonic monsters or supernatural harbingers (i.e. the cat version of the hellhound), so only the examples concerning misfortune and luck would be picked out. Discarding it, maybe, although I'll focus on just setting up the page first.

For this scenario, probably the black cats get their own trope and then a trope uniting the two types might be feasible. Or maybe just one page?

Definitely one page, as I don't think there's enough non-Maneki Neko examples to warrant a non-black cat, cat-based luck page.

[up] Sounds good; I was thinking about a Super-Trope for cats and luck, but if it seems there aren't enough examples outside the main two, that can be tabled. Incidentally, that does bring up the fact that black cats can be a good luck bringer in cultures like Japan, so a trope on black cats might benefit from an additional section where they're treated the opposite reputation.

Imma put my mod cap on and say that splitting off a black cats cause bad luck subtrope & moving appropriate examples to it doesn't require a TRS. So I declined that thread.
